Works okay if you want to watch live, but the app crashes frequently when trying to watch recorded video. Hopefully at some point that bug will be fixed. Also, takes a while to open live feed sometimes. I frequently have to force close the app in order to bring the feed back up. Hopefully some of these bugs get fixed as these are major in terms of it not operating smoothly.

The system cameras was very hard to get talking to the HDV-N6WF in the first place which took much time to get working. One selling point was the system’s compatibility with Mac OS which has turned out not to be fully true. Connection was made to a Mac using the available Mac version program, but detailed compatibility was not good. We then connected it to an older pc lap top which we assigned to use solely with this system but apparently it cannot hold the program for whatever reason. We are now limited to using web access only rather than the full program that came with the system. we bought a monitor to connect the HDV which was a waste of money in my mind since logging on is long and troublesome and it’s much easier to use my I Phone. Unfortunately, the web program doesn’t inform the phone app when motion is detected so, though we can see what’s going on and can review recorded history, it is done randomly rather than by receiving information as it happens. Lucky my wife and I are versed somewhat in computers or we would have never been able to get any of this to work at all. It’s been frustrating, to say the least.

Great stuff-It works. I’ve had a false alarm or two and the police were right there ready to take the pajama wearing owner (me) who rushed over, to jail. Cameras:Meh they work, but are a pain to keep going. A big pain. I have the camera that works on a battery. I really can’t use them consistently. They are never charged when I try to look (inside of a week when charged)The way they have to be mounted, I need a ladder to charge them. I only have a ladder that reaches one of them. So in order for them to function correctly, more often than weekly, I need to borrow a taller ladder (or go buy one eventually) and climb that in the middle of the work day (twice a week) and charge them, then take the charger off and swap the charger to the next camera. It’s a fairly big task to incorporate into an already busy day. I can’t charge them at the same time- because there is one charger and the cord isn’t long enough to reach the floor on one camera, so I need an extension cord- except- if it’s heavy, it pulls on the charger. I would say, unless the camera is for keeping an eye out at home- get ones that are not in need of charging. They aren’t the best situation for a business. Love the company that services them though.

Since the app updated I have not been getting notifications sent to my phone 99% of the time. It is not user friendly because u have to click through too many things to see what’s going on. This is not helpful with knowing what’s going on at your home or business quickly. The best thing they can do is create a notification that includes a screen shot or video of the alert like Nest does. Very quick way to see what’s going on. I may just switch back to them when lots of money lost by buying these cameras. And customer support is not helpful at all. I called for help but he emailed me a manual. And they do not stay open long enough. I feel so unsafe with these cameras in house and I can’t depend on the remote setting to do a good job.
