It was launched on February 1, 2007 and China Daily has been operating it since then. About 2,000 photographers have contributed some 5 million photos. Asianewsphoto.com consists of major English and Chinese-language sections as well as an ANN free-exchange channel. Most of the photos of Asia come from members. The site seeks contributions from professional and freelance photographers in addition to the continent's news media. Its photo services span the entire spectrum and include images of politics, business & economics, society, science & education, entertainment, sports and the environment. The website provides top-notch professional service to the global media and is a platform for photographic interaction among Asian photographers.
