As soon as I downloaded Lucky Life, I was hit with a screen asking if I wanted to pay $25 per week. Then, on top of that screen, another one popped up asking if I wanted 'extra features.' Since I saw a three-day free trial, I decided to sign up for that.I wanted to test the app, so I used one of my own baby pictures and pretended it was my daughter so it wouldn't just ask for another photo. My natural hair in that picture is ginger, but the result the app gave me was a blonde-haired girl with distorted dental features and glasses. First off, how would they even know if a baby was going to have dental issues or need glasses? It was honestly quite rude and insulting.Then the ads started. While most apps include advertisements, having five appear consecutively was unexpected. My three-year-old sister also tried the app, and the facial recognition incorrectly identified her as a boy. This was disappointing as the representation was entirely inaccurate.When examining the feedback for the app, it maintains a 4.4-star rating. However, many recent reviews express similar frustrations regarding technical glitches and the frequency of ads. After reviewing several comments, it was difficult to find many recent high-rated reviews that provided specific details. Many of the top ratings lacked descriptions or did not seem to align with the common technical issues reported by other users. The app does not appear to function as advertised, and the current rating may not fully represent the general user experience.
