The game is functionally unplayable, which is not great since I spent up for their elite and god mode. New events pop up that you have to force close the app to continue. Then, you join fraternities and it doesn’t actually do anything. You bid on things that cost you gold and money and you never actually get the assets. You can earn thousands of dollars each year but expenses will eat it all up with only one or two kids. There’s absolutely no way to make money. So you can have a kid with 100% stats on everything, part of multiple elite fraternities, and attend Harvard. Then you can’t get them a job or do anything for them to earn money. You just keep aging up and watch yourself earn 15-80 dollars each year, never earning enough to even buy anything.
Hey there! We certainly did have some bugs in some earlier versions, but we’ve shipped several updates (with more coming) which have addressed most of the major bugs. The game should be totally playable (I just had a marathon session tonight and made it to the 1900s in one sitting!) Joining fraternities does indeed have an impact — albeit not always obvious (different fraternities have different impacts). Also, not all fraternities are available at all times. Sometimes you have to stick around long enough for them to get invented! For example, Skull & Bones doesn’t popup until 1832, and you have to be enrolled at Yale. Keep enough family members in there by the time the CIA gets invented and you can work your way in there…. You can go to the Affiliations menu and unlock other actions there which can have a broader impact on the world. There’s a lot of impact, it’s just not all spelled out for you as that’s part of “the game”. There are also plenty of ways to make money! Real estate is probably the most obvious, but there’s literally an entire stock market, not to mention strategic attacks you can do on other families. I’d be happy to personally give you some pointers if you’d like. Shoot us an email at info@hermeticventures.com and I can walk you through some gameplay tips. Hope to hear from you!
