Department of Highways develops an application that can measure initial Luminance by using mobile phone cameras which is a valuable device compared to the Imaging Luminance Measuring Device (ILMD) that are used in the market. In addition, this application can use for designing lighting systems on highways in conceptual level.
This application is going to raise standards in road lighting design and allows field operators to make quick and easy assessments of road lighting.
The Department of Highways is expected that it will lead to the improvement of the lighting system on the route. As a result, driving on the road at night is safer.
