Corrected behavior on latest iPhone for image stabilization and the Overlay Mode rotate and scale slider controls.

Fixed a problem with the toggle speed controller in Overlay Mode where it appeared beneath the rotation slider.

Small change to Smart Saturation to stop grays from becoming red or green.

Fixed a couple of interface layout errors and improved the performance of the camera preview.

Overlay Mode (which is a "Pro" feature) has been reworked to make it more suitable for tracing. This involved adding a new control, "Mag-link", that locks the image and live camera views together. Two slider controls have been added in Overlay Mode too. One to rotate the image, and the other to scale it. These make it possible to zoom, rotate and drag, all with one finger (or you can still pinch/stretch using two fingers if you prefer).

Bug fix from v 4.21.1 that were found associated with the focusing of the camera

Bug fix on startup caused by selecting the non-default camera, and added auto focus within Overlay Mode.

Added Image and Camera Blur controls in Overlay Mode, plus a minor bug fix around White Balance control.

Added the ability to control the speed of the toggle function, that is within Overlay Mode (part of the "pro" feature package).

A couple of minor bug fixes to do with Overlay Mode.

Added the ability to unlock the Pro features with a one-off payment. You can now choose between a tiny monthly fee that you can cancel any time, or a single one-off oayment that unlocks the Pro features for ever.

Version 4.1 adds "Heat Seeker" and "Smart Sat[uration]": two controls added to Pro-users of the app, designed to make it easier to see how color shifts as light passes over forms. Plus general improvements and bug fixes.

Version 4 builds on version 3.x adding a new Negative view, which helps to highlight value errors. There is also a new Image Overlay mode that is like projecting your photo reference on to your drawing / painting. This feature requires a tiny monthly subscription that you can cancel at any time. You get the first seven days for free, so you can try it out. After that, think of it as buying me a cup of tea each month :-)

Added an "undo"/"redo" facility, allowing you to undo and redo actions. This means you can undo a brightness/contrast change, for example without having to reset the whole image.

Artist Eye is a rebrand of the app that used to be called CamFlip+.

Minor update in preparation for iOS 17

Added the 3-value view, that splits the mono view into dark, mid-tone and light. Also added smoothing for 3-value and notan views to reduce pixelation, and a blur for color and mono views. These new features work on both the live camera view and on your stored images.

Fixed a problem where access was granted to selected photos only, which stopped the app from opening even the selected photos.

Changed the background from black to gray so that you can see the thumbnail views better - especially useful when viewing as notan.

The live camera view can now be reduced in size to a thumbnail. Works really well when combined with Notan.

Minor cosmetic changes from v 2.0.0
