Chemistry Formulas Practice stimulates students’ mastery of the fundamental skill of naming compounds and writing formulas. The practice categories include ionic and molecular compounds, acids, bases, polyatomic ions, hydrocarbons, and organic functional groups. Students may choose their pace as they work from formula to name or name to formula. **Teachers: Use a classroom code to have a leaderboard for just your classroom that tracks your students' scores or to obtain a quick assessment. Simply request a code and enter it into the iOS devices being used. All of this can be viewed by tapping the info button on the main page.

Good app for beginning chemistry students

I first downloaded the free version of this app and was impressed enough to buy the more complete app. Downloaded without a hitch and worked well on my iPad 2. I tried it out myself and found it very intuitive to use and accurate. I next had several of my students try it out for extra credit. They all agreed that it was a great way to practice formulas. Good job! Would have gotten 5 stars, but the font size was a little small for the subscripts.

The current version choice wheel is transparent and all of the wording and numbers are impossible to read because there is no contrast with the background picture

This is a great app for the beginner chem student. This gave me extra problems to work at and get better. For the price it is reasonable so I like it I suggest you try out the free version to get a good feel for the app.
