This App is a companion feature to the IamResponding system, which enables first responders to know who is responding to an incident, where they are responding, and when. This is used by fire departments, EMS agencies, police agencies, and many incident response entities and teams. The IamResponding system also includes text and audio incident notifications from CAD and/or from live pager audio, duty crew scheduling, inter-agency messaging, live chat, incident mapping with directions, mutual aid connections and information, pre-plans, customized information displays, NFIRS and other incident reporting, and much more. This App brings many of the primary features of the IamResponding system to mobile users in the field, in an easy-to-use and access format.
**Please consult the QUICK START GUIDE provided to your department/team to correctly enable all of the app functions and notification features. If you do not do so, some features will not work correctly**
**You MUST be a member of an entity with a current IamResponding subscription in order for this app to work**
We do NOT monitor the Apple App Store for technical support issues, and we cannot reply to support issues posted as user reviews.
**For any technical support needs or inquiries, please submit a Support Ticket (https://support.iamresponding.com/hc/en-us/requests/new).
Please Note: If your dispatch messages are not currently processed through your department’s IamResponding system, that is a free configuration that can be done in almost any jurisdiction, and is included with your department’s IamResponding subscription. Your app will have more complete functionality if we enable that feature for you. Have your local system administrator submit a Support Ticket (https://support.iamresponding.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) to set this up.
Very functional app. Helpful in terms of information, area, response etc. There does seem to be some problems with location of addresses as it automatically maps an address and half the time it is incorrect. Would like the option to manually enter the address if it doesn’t show the true location on the map and would also like the ability to enter manually the intersections of multiple streets as well as place pins on a map so other individuals responding know the exact location with real time updates as well as being able to track other users locations actively on shift. I would also like it to incorporate voice messages or direct communication to other users by instant message, video, or voice communications. Perhaps an ability to take pictures of the area so other responders know the location and/or dangers of the area. Just some logistical thoughts.
Useful for volunteer services
hdjdndhi
Very useful to see your staffing so long as all of your responding members can be convinced to use it. At a volunteer fire house it’s good to know when you should roll with what you have and when you should wait an extra 60 seconds for more firefighters. As for connectivity, there are generally no problems within my municipality. Issues only seem to occur in areas like college campuses where there are multiple wifi sources or poor cell coverage. The mapping feature is almost never used in my department and it is usually easier for our officers (or whoever ends up in the officer seat) to pu the address into Waze or our gps
Active911 Gives IaR a Run Because of Little Things
FireFite19
At least two things comes to mind that Active911 is doing better, and depending on the technology individuals use, it will determine if your agency wants IaR. First is Apple Watch use. I’ve seen time and time again requests for Apple Watch use, but yet IaR seems to ignore it. Second is the ability to program certain things on the end-user level, such as the user choices to where a person is responding (has to be done via the web, not the app) or individual information (once again - web, not app). These are simple things Active does that for some reason IaR can’t or won’t, and until these things are fixed, I’ll continue with a poor rating. I make the decision on systems at my agency, and I’ve given IaR a lot of years to make simple solutions. September is the deadline and we will then see from there. I hope someone pays attention, but I’m not holding my breath.
We love it, great customer support
1963 Bird Dog
We have been using IaR for probably close to seven years now. At first we didn’t have it set up with our 911 center but once we did - game changer. We put a large monitor up in our truck room with IaR on it. Our first due coverage area is 40 square miles, very helpful to know exactly where you are going while donning gear. Other features are great: knowing who is coming and where they are (tracking), map markers, ability to import hydrant data, pre-plans, geo-fences, calendar of events, expiration tracker, personnel availability, two tone detect, etc. Very few problems over the years, customer support is always on top of things and quick to resolve issues.
As IamResponding continues to evolve, this update ensures it remains an effective, reliable, and easy to use solution that empowers responders in critical situations.
Includes:
- Improved map performance and responsiveness.
- Minor bug fixes and improvements.
We do not monitor app reviews for technical support needs or comments.
