ComicK, a piracy site allowing you to read a wide variety of manga, manhwa, and manhua, recently shut down a couple of days ago. The UI was amazing, you were able to make customized reading list, the community was interactive and very nice to be a part of, and on top of all of that, it was FREE!That was all taken away because of this greedy and malicious company. Not only did they get this site shut down after it’s been in use for YEARS, they also paraded their “victory” on a Twitter post like they were doing a public service. On top of all of this, I also only learned recently that these guys have some very predatory business practices and treat their artist like trash. There’s even an article out there about a female artist whom they literally forced her to work while she was pregnant and the stress led to her having a miscarriage. You can probably find info about it with a quick Google search.I might not be able to do much since I’m just a regular guy from the states, but I will HIGHLY recommend not supporting anything that these guys are affiliated with.

I had this app before it went overseas however there are some issues to be addressed.-Age verification requirement adaptable for international users. Naver Webtoon adds the exception for international users to verify their age. Why does Kakaopage not do the same?-I had a prior account with the same email before the app went overseas. It will not let me sign in to my old account and it creates a new account using that same email. I would like to keep my old email please.-Webnovels and Webtoons still have the language barrier. It’s understandable that the app added a translation to the features. However, this is not applicable for webnovels & webtoons. It would be nice if you added another category specifically for international readers. -Purchase cap. Once again this goes on with the underlying issue of needing to verify with a valid Korean number and carrier. Why add kakaopage internationally with no regard towards us? I was able to purchase normally beforehand and had not much to say because the app was not available internationally. Now that it is, please add some changes to consider us.I love the content available on Kakaopage and found multiple Webtoons that is originally Korean that I love reading. Multiple groups have translated series from Kakaopage and are now ceasing to due to the interest of the app finally considering international readers.Webtoons and Webnovels are very popular overseas and the culture varies. Kakao corp has the opportunity to capitalize this while its still popular or get overshadowed by Webtoon.

This app is extremely frustrating. The interface feels outdated and hard to navigate, pages take forever to load, and there are constant glitches that interrupt reading. On top of that, the payment system is confusing and unreliable, with purchases sometimes not showing up at all. Customer support is unresponsive and unhelpful, making it impossible to resolve issues. Overall, a very disappointing experience — I wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone.

I’m writing this review as someone who actually hasn’t been able to use the app themselves, but I’ve seen others use it so I know it works. Unfortunately for me the app won’t work, I’ve done everything but I just get a black screen. I gave it 5 stars regardless because I’m thankful for the global release, finally fans from overseas can enjoy the comics from their favorite authors. I hope the app works for me eventually, but till then thank you.
