Step 3: Match and they must pass your deal breakers at 100%
Step 4: They complete and pass a background check (if required)
Step 5: Confirm a time and location or suggest a new one
Step 6: Go on a date

Skip partners with Checkr to offer background checks. These checks require SSN verification, helping reduce fraud risk compared with name only screening. Screening may include, where available:

Global watchlist search:
• Searches a comprehensive network of domestic and international government watchlists for criminal history.
National criminal search:
• Searches county records that queries up to 900 million public records.

NOTE ON BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS
- Availability depends on match type and user settings.
- Background checks help reduce risk but do not verify identity or guarantee safety
- Who can require a background check depends on match type and the user’s selected experience. In woman seeking man matches, women may require men to complete a background check before progressing a date, men cannot require a background check from women in this match type. In other match types, the ability to require a match to complete a background check is available only to users who choose the “screen others” experience.
*SKIPS DEFINITIONS: “Ghosting” means a user stops replying in chat, leaving the other person without clarity on whether things are continuing. “Bots” means automated chat messages not sent by a real person. “Unsolicited pics or D*ck pics” means photos sent in chat without consent, often inappropriate. Skip does not offer in-app chat, so these issues do not occur within Skip.
