This is an updated review. I did one a couple of years back - and to my surprise, one of the developers reached out to me and asked if they could talk to me about the app, how I use it, any ideas for improvements. It has come a very long way from that beginning. I have tried multiple AI driven note takers and minute transcribing apps due to the shear volume of meetings I have - it’s hard to organize all my handwritten meeting notes and I wanted a way to transcribe them so they were searchable in my Notes app. I have used Fireflies, Otter, Teams transcription, and a variety of smaller and more expensive apps. With each, I had to take the meeting transcription and port it over to chatGPT and tell it to transcribe the notes to get something useful and organized the way I like my notes. I’ve eliminated all my other subscriptions to transcribers and use this exclusively. It’s AI for transcribing notes has come so far - I’m very pleased with how it gives multiple options for how you want the output and it does a very good job with its notes. I still like my notes in a certain format and style, I’ve tried my AI through chatGPT so there are still transcriptions I port over but that’s personal preference. It records on all of my devices - computer, iPad, iPhone and shockingly - my Apple Watch. There are times in meetings where I just use the Apple Watch app to record the meeting and it automatically ports over to any of my other devices for transcribing, no effort, just done. I am so surprised at how well a watch on my wrist can record a class in an auditorium or a meeting in a conference room. I highly recommend this app - and if you haven’t used an AI minute taker for your meetings, webinars, classes, etc. - this is going to make your life so much easier.

I’ve tried several different speech to text apps and this is by far the best. The embedding of AI makes it superior to all the competition. It is remarkable how it creates an outline and identifies the salient points. The summary is uncanny in its ability to pull out the most important points made by the speaker.The only problem I have with company is they are not all that responsive. They have three different subscription plans, but neither the app or their website tell you what is included in the different versions. My emails to the company over the last 10 days have gone unanswered.I like this app so much I’d probably get the most expensive version, but it might include features I don’t need. I wish the company would put something on their website that compared the three subscription plans.

With the explosion of all the AI apps being used to transcribe language, I was a little hesitant to buy one. I chose SpeakApp quite blindly and thought I could always delete it and cancel the subscription. I tried it first on a television commercial and found that it was perfectly accurate. I tried it in multiple situations and also found it accurate. So the other night I tried the recording of a meeting, and it blew me away of how it was accurate and summarized the meeting. As I spend many hours in a month transcribing the minutes of a committee, this is a time saver par excellant. 10 minutes after the meeting I sent the email summary out to the committee members and they were amazed.

I am truly amazed at how easily the app picked up the foreign accent of my Pastor and transcribed his 70 minute teaching with excellent punctuation and started new paragraphs on its own. It took me a while to figure out how to take his voice message from my cellphone to the app which was also on my cellphone. I solved this dilemma when I recorded the message onto my iPad and then replayed the message to the app! Hallelujah!
