The Waalre Walks are GPS-controlled audio tours (podwalks) that let you experience the stories of Waalre on location. The podwalks are spread across Waalre. In these walks, Mike Weerts takes you on a journey on location through the stories to be discovered in Waalre. Using traces in the landscape, he tells what is so special about the place where you are standing at that moment. By linking to GPS, Mike knows exactly where you are. He tells you where to go and where to look.
In some places, you can make the past visible with Augmented Reality.
Like the former railway station of Aalst-Waalre from the early 19th century that you can walk around. Or meet the French soldiers from 1800 on the wild heath.The stories are suitable for all ages. And thus perhaps the best choice for an active and educational day out. Prefer a taster before you set off? In the app, you can listen to excerpts from each walk. So you know exactly which route best suits your plans for the day.
The app has a list view of all routes. Prefer to see it on a map? The map view shows you which routes are near you.
The screen is designed so you can read it well outdoors. Even in bright sunshine. There is also a dark mode. That's a bit friendlier on the eyes when navigating the app at home at night.
Each walk shows how long it takes. In minutes, but also in steps. Handy for your walking or fitness app.
