The ten-part series of watercolour paintings by kennedy+swan plays with the idea of a global dietary change. Proteins from grasshoppers, crickets, and buffalo worms have already found their way into our supermarkets. Not only do they end up in pizzas, but athletes also reach for fitness bars and drinks made from insect powder. Augmented reality content adds a temporal level to the work. If you scan the images with a smartphone, additional information, animations, and interactive elements appear on the screen. The utopia does not remain just an image but comes to life. How do you prepare grasshoppers in beer batter? What happens if the insect farms are not airtight? And can beetles predict the future?
