GlobeARound to Constellation is an Augmented Reality App developed to navigate the Tecnodidattica globe with your smartphone and discover interactive and multimedia contents related to the Starry Sky, the Constellations and many astronomical objects, such as double stars, star clusters, nebulae and galaxies.
By pointing the camera of your device on the sphere of the globe, you can see, in overlay, the most important star patterns, with 3D localization of the most interesting astronomical objects which define the individual constellation.
With the simple touch of your finger it will be possible to choose and to interactively visualize individual elements, see images and read information about them.
In the App there are the following:
- 20 patterns connected to just as many Constellations, floating in 3D and visible in AR which overlap the map on the globe while in “night” mode.
- 20 tabs containing general information about the constellation, the mythological creature it represents, the principal stars and celestial objects found in the constellation and how to identify them in the sky;
- over 40 objects in 3D which can be positioned in AR on the globe, which represent astronomical objects, such as star clusters, nebulae and galaxies, accompanied by explanatory photographs taken by powerful telescopes
- 4 videos in 3D giving detailed information about Astronomical Geography: rotational motion and revolution of the Earth, astronomical seasons, the movement of the Moon around the Earth, lunar phases and time zones.
The interactive content is accessible and usable not only in augmented reality mode but also with a simple 3D interface with the touch of a finger.
How it works:
-Download the GlobeAR App using the QR code or on the Online Store
In AR mode:
-
- Use the app in a dark room and turn on your globe.
- Choose a constellation
Point the camera at the chosen constellation
- Tap the icon of the lens near the constellation to get more information about it
In 3D mode:
-Using the 3D interface choose the constellation you want to see;
-Proceed as in the AR mode.
All content in the App has been originally developed by Tecnodidattica: there are no links to other sites nor advertising.
