I have to admit in 30 years of practice- I have been terrible with paperwork-my dept chair in residency told me I had phenomenal surgical hands but could figure out why they couldn’t write notes. I tried several but Heidi seemed to click the quickest. The only mistake it makes is when I don’t hit record. I am not using it to its full ability as I haven’t spent enough time learning and setting up optimally. It usually can fix for me- contrary to others- I think the newest update on desktop is awesome adding in literature review incorporating into notes- takes a lil getting used to-like I said, any limitations are my own- this can be used effectively even if not spending a lot of time making templates-I bet even better if I learned more. I used to love this app. Live or die by it. But some of the updates have surfaced some less than ideal functioning. I feel as though the note quality has decreased, and I cannot figure out how to adjust the settings in order to have a better note. To be fair, I do use the free version. However, this used to provide me with everything that I needed to have a very sufficient and well written note. I now feel as though the notes are lower quality, and I often can write a better note myself, which is unfortunate because this app has saved me a lot of time in the past. I also noticed this new update was supposed to be fluid with the microphone working regardless of receiving a phone call or utilizing headphones or anything of the sorts. However, I have great difficulty with my notes completing successfully when I wear a headphone to listen to music while charting between patients. I have a lot more instances now in which I cannot get a note to load for whatever technical difficulty error it is giving me.

Busy clinician here. Tried the free version for a week, compared it to another product I was using over the last year and found Heidi to be way more functional and the quality of the transcriptions in addition to the customization is amazing. Have now cancelled the other and subscribed here. I do sometimes see people reviewing this app who are using the free version, and I think trying the free version is reasonable, but if you’re really going to use it all the time you owe it to the company to subscribe. And it’s difficult to give a proper review when you’re not able to use all of the features. This is really going to transform our ability to see patients.
