This is almost exactly what I’ve been looking for! I’d been posting to Instagram to capture moments with thoughts, but realized I wanted to keep those thoughts a bit more private, and get away more from social media overall. This fits the bill! I love the photo-forward approach.My one request is the ability to add multiple entries in a single day. I’d love to be able to make one entry with a photo or two in the morning, and then the evening follow on with a separate entry and associated photos. Personally, I’d accept cutting down the # of photos allowed per post as a trade off to make this feature possible (currently the app allows 1 post with 5 associated photos per day).

It’s hard to find a photo journaling app with a cute aesthetic as well as the right mix of simplicity and helpful features. I tested a bunch of different ones, and this was the one I kept coming back to! I like that I can see my calendar of photos with or without numbers. I also love that it automatically generates slideshows and other exports. The prices for premium & lifetime versions are very fair as well. Plus, you can tell the developer is still keeping up with app updates regularly. Definitely recommend!

I've only just downloaded PicDiary, but so far, so good. The concept is simple and the execution is great. The free version allows 2 photos a day, which is perfect for me--though I do see myself getting the pro version in the future to support the developer. I love being able to write a caption and the option of a voice note is a nice touch as well!

I was hesitant to leave my social media accounts because although I didn’t want to use them anymore, I loved the “year ago today” feature where I got to see my old photos. A friend recommended that I use this instead. It is so much better, and I was able to get away from the toxic social media as well. Win win!
