The fast, flexible food tracker
Alma is a food tracker that fits into your routine. You can speak, type, or snap a photo to track meals in seconds. Logging food should be quick—and with Alma’s AI, it is. No tedious searching or complicated entries.
The barcode scanner is deeply integrated. Scan grocery items, snacks, or meals to add them to your food tracker instantly. The barcode scanner is fast, accurate, and works across thousands of verified products. Together, the food tracker and barcode scanner help you log with less friction and more precision.
----
More than a calorie tracker
Alma is not just a calorie tracker. It tracks macros like protein, carbs, and fats—plus micronutrients like fiber, calcium, and iron. This calorie tracker goes beyond the basics so you can understand the full picture of what you eat.
The food tracker updates instantly as you log meals. It’s also a nutrition tracker that helps you stay on top of your targets, without overwhelming you with charts or noise. Whether you’re tracking macros, cutting back on sugar, or aiming for more fiber, Alma keeps it simple.
----
Your personal nutrition tracker
Alma is a food tracker and nutrition tracker in one. It helps you see how your choices affect your energy, hunger, and progress over time. Use Alma to track patterns, explore your nutrient intake, and feel more in control of your eating.
The built-in barcode scanner makes your nutrition tracker faster. You don’t need to enter every detail manually—scan, log, and go. For packaged foods, snacks, or grocery items, the barcode scanner is your shortcut to better tracking.
----
A better weight loss tracker
Alma is also a weight loss tracker that helps you stay consistent without stress. Set your goals, log your food, and see trends that help you adjust over time. This weight loss tracker isn’t about guilt or pressure—it’s about small wins, awareness, and smarter decisions.
Unlike traditional weight loss trackers, Alma adapts to your life. The food tracker works even when meals aren’t perfect. The calorie tracker helps you understand how much you’re eating, and the nutrition tracker helps you focus on quality, not just numbers.
----
Smart suggestions as you track
As you use the food tracker, Alma gives helpful, real-time suggestions. Looking for a high-protein meal? Wondering if you hit your fiber target? The food tracker and nutrition tracker work together to guide you without rigid rules.

As a former gymnast, I’ve always been very aware of what I’m eating. I’ve tracked macros for longer than I can remember, and while it’s never really bothered me to log foods, it is a tedious task. I wish I had this app back then. To have something less rigid and more friendly takes the pressure off and actually makes all of this fun. Beyond that, the more exciting part is the way that Alma can take the information and share what it means and what actionable steps can be taken. What’s the point of all this data if I don’t know what it means? Being proactive and making adjustments on the fly as we continue to learn is amazing. Thank you, Alma!

A former gymnast who actually gets the data side of nutrition. This is exactly who we built Alma for. You nailed it: the data is only as useful as the context around it. Really glad Alma is making that part feel less like homework and more like something you actually want to do.
Rapid Marked Improvement

My initial review is left below, so folks can understand the amount of progress the developer has made in such a short period of time. This app has genuinely improved quite a bit since I installed it. The developer is quite active and engaged. More than any other developer I’ve interacted with through the App Store. Many of the food entry issues have been eliminated. In fact, it is a downright smooth process now. AI entry makes tracking easy and therefore leads to better results with understanding your food intake. The Alma score is getting better and resetting correctly, which were needed fixes. The Alma coach is surprisingly helpful.Overall in its current state, it’s great and highly recommended. I think it is probably the best food tracker for removing the tedium of food entry. Its use has become a cornerstone of my day unlike all the other food trackers I’ve tried.Original review below:I bought this on a lark because of the potential. The tracking aspect when it works is a major time saver. Those potentially interested in using this app and subscribing should know that the tracker will magically erase food items previously entered. It will log items at incorrect times frequently. The Alma score doesn’t reset and when you ask the coach it will often gaslight you until you ask it to ACTUALLY look at the data. The nutritional information is always slightly off, so prepare to adjust the numbers if precision is desired. If the developers ever figure out how to eliminate these issues this has the potential to be a really great app. As it stands today, I’d only use as an experiment or those not interested in genuine accurate tracking. We’ll see how it develops. 🙏🏼

Hey Drew, thanks for giving Alma a real shot and taking the time to write this up. The issues you're describing: items erasing, incorrect timestamps, the score not resetting... these are genuinely puzzling to us, because they don't match what we're seeing across the board. That doesn't mean your experience isn't real, it means something specific is going on with your setup and we want to figure out what. We'd love to hop on a call, seriously. Reach out at mango@alma.food and let's dig into this together. The potential you see in Alma? We see it too. We just want to make sure it actually delivers for you.
Incredibly supportive and insightful nutrition tracking
daily nutrition support
I really appreciate the ai support to input meals by text or voice, the various ways the app offers advice and guidance towards your goals, takes the guesswork out of how to eat daily to support your athletic needs. I am not sure I agree with the points system that seem to label various foods as healthy vs unhealthy (healthy eating is not just about function and numbers and also think it’s important to prevent development of eating disorders) but do appreciate the efforts to bring awareness to types/quality of food for deep long term health.
Great app for food tracking and motivation

This app is so easy to use, photos of food are actually tracked accurately more than other apps I’ve tried. The AI coach is great, very conversational and accurate. You can even talk to it to log food. The food database is vast and I’ve only had one thing it couldn’t find so it had me add the details which was very easy. Lots of choices for goals and it will also track challenges like upcoming races and takes that into consideration for you goals each week. Support is also great.
