The hybrid system brings a lot to the table that previous similar systems were missing. That said, this still definitely feels like a beta.Links to manuals within the app are unresponsive, and app frequently crashes when scanning a new track or attempting to update car firmware (luckily before the install so it doesn’t brick anything).Can’t wait to see what the expected next update brings (esp. AI opponents!), but would also love the option to switch from metric to imperial for us yanks, at least on the dashboard for speed.Carrera, PLEASE stick with this and keep adding, this could be a gamechanger if you don’t abandon it too early. I’d love to be able to run full endurance races with pit lanes, etc. similar to what’s available for Carrera Digital 132 with Smartrace. Unlike with slotcars, since the performance is app-controlled, all the cars with the same tuning are perfectly balanced against each other. I really want to see this go the distance.

Carrera Hybrid is really the first fully integrated RC car racing system that is affordable enough for the average person. The lap counting feature alone is fantastic and allows for great competitive multiplayer races and the cars themselves are built well enough to allow for competitive racing as opposed to gimmickry that has been a staple of previous slotless sets (Anki, Hotwheels AI). The only thing that I feel needs to be improved is the penalty system for competitive race setups. I like the steep penalties for corner cutting but when we did a trial run with 8 competitive RC car drivers chaos ensued after turn 1 when no one knew how much penalty time they had gained and it appeared that cars that either overshot a turn or were forced of the track by another car also received the same level of penalty as corner cutting. It would be beneficial if there was a way to distinguish between cars cutting over the red strip versus cars falling off the track on the blue side (where there is less or no time gained)Overall great product and the app is pretty good as well and getting better with each update

I am a kickstarter backer of that project. I love the end result as it is such a better experience than slot car racing. BUT please make the app available on all app stores. Right now the app is limited to specific countries. My friends coming home to play cannot use their phones as they are on other countries App Store. If you had plans to do limited release of the game you should have made that clear in the project and on the box. I have 6 racers and I can’t race :-(

App is similar to anki overdrive but better. There needs to be more customization of parts for the vehicles within the app. As a starting point, however, carrera hybrid brings the slot car hobby to the future. I am hoping there will be new car models available to purchase in the U.S. for the game in the future. I am also hoping they add AI opponents, as that was the only thing anki overdrive had that this product doesn’t.
