I keep playing thinking that the puzzles will start to require more thought. I’m on level 45 though and it’s just not happening.

This one doesn’t explain most of the logic tricks, but does auto mark when you place a queen, and auto unmarks when you remove it again. This makes Nishio pretty easy, which is good because many puzzles seem to require it. Note that solutions are not always unique. So sometimes you just have to experiment. The ads are pretty polite, but the energy meter should really be visible.
