NZ Verify/Whakatūturu App supports the verification of select international digital credentials issued by trusted authorities – including mobile driver licences. This allows organisations like rental car companies and government agencies to verify eligible credentials in person with ease and accuracy, supporting a secure and seamless experience for individuals and organisations alike.

NZ Verify can currently verify:
· United States mobile driver licences: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Puerto Rico, Utah, Virginia
· Australia mobile driver licences: Queensland
NZ Verify will also be able to verify an NZ Transport Authority (NZTA)-issued mobile driver licence when it is made available in the future.

Revocation Status List (Draft 14)
- The app now supports revocation checks using Status List Draft 14, while remaining backwards compatible and unchanged in behaviour.
18+ Claims Check
-The app can validate specific claim values, such as “18+”, and will return an invalid result if the claim does not meet expectations.
Content updates
The EULA, Privacy Policy, and Trusted Issuer List have been updated to include recently added mDL providers and reflect the change of app owner from Department of Internal Affairs to Public Service Commission.
iOS 26 SDK requirement
- The iOS app is now built using the iOS 26 SDK to meet App Store Connect requirements, with no impact to users, device iOS versions, or app compatibility.
Bug fixes and under-the-hood changes
- This release includes stability improvements, smoother onboarding and presentation handling, UI refinements, enhanced backend security, and improved diagnostic logging for troubleshooting.
