Good concept—not worth paying

I love the concept, but when I saw the charge for the app I used the app to see if I should pay it….not worth it. So I cancelled and deleted the app. You can VERY easily use an AI model and a properly written prompt to do this for free. Just fyi.

Website doesn’t work either

Not A Fan.
We all know the app is blocked by the $30/year subscription, which is silly coming from an app that should help you save money. Turns out the developer(s) couldn’t care less to understand the frustration behind the subscription, so they copy and paste a response to send you to their website.To no one’s surprise the website doesn’t work either. I put in my hourly rate, birthday, and how much I want to save. Every time I press submit, it tells me to fill in “purchase price” even with “$650” entered into the text box.Since this app is useless, here’s how to calculate yourself.Hourly x hours per pay period = gross (not net) paycheck.Salary calculators for taxes are FREE online if you search for it. Your end number is how much you receive per paycheck and if you’re smarter that the developers, you can easily calculate how many paychecks it’ll take because “days of work” doesn’t matter if you get paid biweekly.

The average American (and many Canadians and Brits too) spends around $250 per month on impulse buys, and our subscription costs less than 1/100 of that, with the goal of helping people save far more than it costs.Regarding the website issue, I wasn’t able to recreate the error. I tested it across multiple browsers on both desktop and mobile, and it worked on my end. If you’re willing, please email a screenshot of the error to support@buybye.fun so I can investigate and fix it if something is broken. I genuinely want it to work properly.The core philosophy behind BuyBye is that if something isn’t fun, people won’t stick with it, and if they don’t stick with it, it can’t help. That’s why the app uses animations and a lighter, game-like approach to make saying “don’t buy” feel easier. Knowing the formulas can solve the math, but BuyBye is designed to help with the emotional side of spending decisions too.

The immediate “gives us feedback” when i havent even used the app yet was sketchy. And then it asked me a yes or no question which then gave me the same resolution regardless of which answer i pick. Then you have to pay after doing all that just to get help. Granted its only $30 annual, but the point of the app is to help “SAVE” money. So why add on an extra $30 apple bill!?
