Tic Tac Toe Ultra

Strategy

Free · Designed for iPad

Tic Tac Toe reimagined. Win local boards to claim the global grid. Outsmart your opponent or the AI in this ultra-strategic twist on a classic. Think you’ve mastered Tic Tac Toe? Think again. This is the ultra version — layered, strategic, and way harder to beat. Take on friends or the AI in a game that’s simple on the surface but brutal underneath. Every local win feeds into the global board. Plan ahead. Trap your opponent. Outsmart the system. Designed for fans who want more than a grid of Xs and Os. This isn’t your childhood game — it’s Ultra. * How to Play * Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe, also known as UTT or meta tic-tac-toe, is a strategic extension of the classic game. It features a 3×3 grid of smaller tic-tac-toe boards, making up a larger 3×3 grid—resulting in 81 cells in total. * Rules of Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe * Game Setup: The board consists of nine 3×3 tic-tac-toe grids arranged in a larger 3×3 grid. Each small grid is referred to as a "local board," and the overarching 3×3 grid is the "global board." First Move: Player X starts and can place their mark in any of the 81 cells. Subsequent Moves: The position of the previous move within its local board dictates the local board where the next player must play. For example, if X places a mark in the top-right cell of a local board, O must play in the top-right local board on their next turn. Local Board Completion: If a player wins a local board by aligning three of their marks horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, they claim that board. No further moves can be made in a claimed or full local board. If a move directs a player to such a board, they may choose any other unclaimed and non-full local board for their move. Winning the Game: A player wins the game by claiming three local boards in a row on the global board—horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. If all local boards are claimed or filled without a player achieving this, the game ends in a draw. * Strategic Considerations * Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe introduces a layer of complexity absent in the traditional game. Players must consider not only their immediate move but also how it will influence their opponent's options. This dynamic requires foresight and adaptability, as each move affects the flow of the game on both the local and global levels.
