wBlock turns Safari into a cleaner, faster, and more private browsing experience while being completely free and open-source.
Userscript Support
Enhance your browsing with powerful userscripts that add features mainstream browsers can't. Bring back YouTube dislikes, bypass paywalls, customize social media feeds, and more. wBlock gives you the power to shape the web the way you want it.
Lightning-Fast Performance
wBlock uses only ~40 MB of RAM at idle, one of the lightest ad blockers available. Your browser stays fast and responsive while blocking ads, trackers, malware, and annoyances across every website you visit.
Complete Control
Toggle blocking on individual sites with one click. Add custom filter lists to fine-tune protection. View detailed logs to troubleshoot issues. wBlock puts you in the driver's seat.
Free & Open-Source Forever
No subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no hidden fees. wBlock is completely free and always will be. The open-source codebase ensures complete transparency; you can verify exactly what the app does and how it protects your privacy.
Privacy-First Design
wBlock runs entirely within Safari's content blocking API. There's no data collection, no tracking, and no system-level extensions that can monitor your browsing. Your privacy stays yours.
Comprehensive Protection
Using AdGuard's comprehensive filters and more, wBlock blocks ads and trackers across the entire web. One-click filter updates keep protection current.
Are you looking for the best free and open-source ad blocker for Safari? Well, this is it. Don’t waste your money on the overrated ad blocker called Wipr 1/2, they’re basically the same, except for the UI. People just tend to recommend it because they already spent money on it. AdGuard is better than Wipr, but it’s too resource-hungry. uBlock is almost on par with wBlock. So the ranking goes like this: wBlock > uBlock > AdGuard > Wipr 1/2. And no, this isn’t a paid review, so go cry if you paid for Wipr lol (Sadly, I bought both after falling for the hype from many on Reddit, so my opinion is unbiased) Go support this amazing developer for making the #1 best ad blocker for Safari.
Incredible: 2 ideas

iOS <> Mac should sync whitelists at a bare minimum and everything at a maximum. I know sites are different per device but I like to keep my lists in sync for clarity. And whitelists are very annoying to enter twice. Charge money! We want you to succeed and keep working on this. 3 months free, $0.99/month thereafter
Would be my favorite blocker but running into issues
Kyjyu
Lately I’m having it not load video properly compared to ublock origin lite. Not sure why cause I went through and disabled to see if I could find what was causing it and nothing fixed it. So maybe if we could get a report issue. It seems like sometimes it’s blocking too well or there is something on the back end that ublock is doing better.
Update Feb 26 Removed Google Logo!
obocoioasb
Just started using this block a month ago. Loved it. Until this morning a new update removed the main google logo on my home page! I can’t see it say “Google” or see any of their logo changes. There is no way to disable this and no way to contact anyone normal for help. Support takes me to some giant website for tech geeks and requires me to sign it and a layman would have zero idea what they are talking about. No way to email someone for help. Put back my Google logo or I will have to dump this Ad Blocker.
