Not a very smooth app. Narrative not as historical, more ad lib. Can only access 3 items before hitting a paywall. If your onsite with no internet and haven’t bought everything it’s worthless.

We are upfront that you can try the app for free and provide access to a few of the checkpoints without paying anything. The app development is not supported by ads and fully functions offline. That said, yes there is a paywall beyond a few checkpoints. The cost is minimal for what you get. Look at comparable apps and you will find we are quite generous with what we provide here. We are also upfront that users should download the app when they have either cell or wifi. Yes you will need one or the other to unlock the checkpoints, but if you have downloaded the app already then the checkpoints, audio, and associated files are already there so it will not cause a big download charge if you use your cell phone to do this at the site. These user patterns are well above what you can expect from other apps at this price point. We strive to make sure that our users get value from our guides and that the information provided is fun for kids and adults. I didn’t want to spend all day in a group and decided to download the app and visit the site on my own. Yes, you need to download the app ahead of time if you visit the site, and yes there is only a portion of the app that is free then you pay for the rest. But, if you do this ahead of time it is easy to follow the app, easy to visit all of the points of interest and the history and narrative is easy to follow. If you are looking for a self-guided tour this is the best one for the price. It definitely beats spending the entire day with a crowd.

Version 2 brings a smoother tour experience: map pins now open checkpoints directly, the map UI is cleaner with improved contrast and a Map/Satellite toggle, and locked pins now prompt an unlock dialog with a direct Unlock Full Tour action. Checkpoint pages were redesigned with branded section headers, a single audio progress control, and swipeable gallery cards with consistent image sizing. Onboarding is clearer with a tappable map preview, list resume/reset behavior is improved, checkpoint ordering is more reliable, and new gallery images were added across the tour.
