To be honest, Remelio started because I was tired of feeling like a bad friend and a clumsy professional. It was born from my own personal struggles with something we all face: maintaining meaningful connections in a world that’s moving faster than ever. I was dealing with three cringeworthy pain points: The "Name Blank": You know that sinking feeling when you run into someone you know you've met, you make eye contact, and your brain just serves up a 404 error on their name? I hated that. It made what should have been a warm moment feel incredibly awkward. The Slow Fade: My contacts list was filled with hundreds of people I genuinely cared about—old college friends, former colleagues, mentors who'd helped me. But relationships were fading, not from a lack of care, but from a lack of attention. The "I should reach out soon" thought never turned into action. The Detail Deficit: I realized the magic of deep relationships is in the details—remembering their kid's name, the big project they were working on, their spouse's birthday. This crucial info was scattered across text messages, random notes, and my own unreliable memory. I looked at those "super-connectors" and politicians and wondered what their secret was. It turns out, it's not a superpower; it's a system. They are intentional. They take notes. They set reminders. But when I looked for a tool, all I found were complex, corporate CRMs designed for sales teams. They felt cold, transactional, and completely overkill for managing personal and professional relationships. That’s why I built Remelio. I wanted to create a simple, elegant tool that acts as a second brain for your relationships. It's a personal CRM designed for people, not sales pipelines. It’s for anyone who believes that strong relationships are the foundation of a happy life and a successful career but needs a little help to be more intentional. I was thinking of doing the lifetime sub but then I imported some contacts and they came in strange. (Last name first name with no spaces). So I went to go and edit them one by one and label my relationship (fortunately I’m only using this for professional networking) but it requires a phone number to save it. I don’t have phone numbers for half the people. So I may not even keep it. I’m on the fence. It seemed like everything I wanted. A place to keep track of how I met people and keep notes on the interactions and remind myself to follow up. But these two issues are incredibly disappointing.Update: okay I was able to just type 0 for the phone number and I can fix all my contacts. So bumping back to 5 stars because I do love this app.
