Protocol — Compliance Engine
Scan Meals•Train•Get Coached
Only for iPhone
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
Your nutrition, training, and fasting protocol — an adaptive engine that learns your patterns, nudges compliance, and holds you accountable when the app is closed.
Scan your meal. Get macros in seconds. Build a custom training plan. Track everything — nutrition, training, fasting, sleep, steps — in one app that learns how you move, eat, and recover.
Protocol is a structured fitness system for people who value consistency over motivation. No streaks. No guilt mechanics. Just data and structure that adapts to you over time.
HOW IT WORKS
Protocol connects to Apple Health to calculate your Total Daily Energy Expenditure using steps, workouts, and weight data. As you log, Protocol reflects your real trends back — whether your goal is fat loss, muscle gain, or recomposition. The longer you use it, the smarter it gets.
MEAL LOGGING
Scan meals by photo or log with text. AI identifies foods and estimates calories and macros instantly. Every entry is fully editable — adjust proteins, fats, and carbs individually or by ingredient. Save meal preps for one-tap relogging. Common foods pull from a verified local database for accuracy.
TRAINING CALENDAR
Generate 41+ custom training structures across strength, hypertrophy, conditioning, endurance, and performance. Choose 2–7 day splits targeting specific muscle groups. Log lifts, sets, and rest times. Track progressive overload, volume, and density. Edit exercises, swap movements, save templates. No rigid plans. No false urgency.
NON-NEGOTIABLES
Steps, protein, calories, sleep, training — always visible on your dashboard. Miss one, and the system redirects your attention to what matters. Track daily weight trends with clear, readable graphs. Nutrition is tracked as context, not a scorecard.
SEVEN ARCHETYPES
Focused programs built around your goals:
Ascetic — Fasting-aware discipline system with ritual tracking and a structured fasting timeline.
Forge — Strength and hypertrophy engine with progressive overload tracking.
PrimeCut — Fat loss with calorie and macronutrient cycling plus structured refeed days.
Balance — Sustainable recomposition using weight and intake data reflection.
Protocol X — Athletic performance benchmarks with HR zone analysis and session density tracking.
Vixen — Cycle-aware training for women with menstrual phase integration and phase-aware adjustments.
Sentinel — Human-coached training with real-time messaging, custom workout programming, and direct coach oversight.
Each archetype includes specialized tools usable across any program.
HUMAN COACHING
Sentinel connects you directly to a certified coach inside the app. Your coach sees your training, nutrition, and body composition data in real time — and programs your workouts, adjusts your macros, and communicates through built-in chat. No third-party apps. No spreadsheets. One system, one coach, one place.
AI COACH
A context-aware AI coach trained on your actual data. Ask questions, generate workouts, log meals, and adjust training. The AI references your compliance history, meal patterns, and training progress — not generic advice. It's a tool, not a motivator.
BUILT FOR CONSISTENCY
Protocol tracks what matters and stays quiet about what doesn't. Daily compliance reviews take 15 seconds. Weekly audits surface patterns you'd miss. The system holds you accountable even when the app is closed — with intelligent notifications that know when you've trained, eaten, and logged.

Your AI coach just got a lot smarter. It now understands your archetype — whether you're on a PrimeCut calorie cycle low day, a Forge deload week, or entering your luteal phase on Vixen, the coach sees your live data and tailors advice accordingly.
###Smarter coaching by archetype###
The AI coach now receives real-time data from your active pack — calorie cycle day targets, progression status, fasting state, cycle phase, and more. Tips and suggested tasks on your home screen are now specific to your archetype instead of generic.
###Satiety meter###
A new satiety score on your nutrition page estimates how satisfied you should feel based on what you've eaten, factoring in protein, meal composition, and time since your last meal. Each logged meal also gets a satiety quality badge so you can see which meals keep you fuller longer. Your coach can reference your satiety score when making meal recommendations.
###Pack-aware notifications###
Morning notifications now reflect your archetype — PrimeCut users see today's cycle day type and calorie target, Forge users get progression summaries, Vixen users see their current phase. Contextual alerts fire when your data warrants it, like a deload suggestion when multiple lifts stall or a budget warning when you're overshooting your weekly calories.
###Calorie cycle macro sync###
The macro targets on your nutrition page now match your cycle day. Previously, low days showed the correct calorie target but base macro numbers — now protein, carbs, and fat targets update to reflect your actual cycle day split.
###Improved food scanning###
Scanning meals with multiple components now correctly lists each ingredient separately with accurate per-item macros, instead of dropping ingredients from the list.
###Coach macro fix###
Switching archetypes no longer carries over stale macro targets from a previous Sentinel coach. Your nutrition targets now reset to match your new pack immediately on switch.

**UI/UX Overhaul — Home Screen Redesign**
Protocol's home screen has been completely reimagined with a three-page swipeable layout that puts every tool exactly where you need it.
**Three-Domain Home Screen**
Swipe between Compliance, Nutrition, and Analytics — three dedicated pages that organize your entire fitness command center. Compliance tracks your daily directives and coach intel. Nutrition handles calories, macros, and meal logging. Analytics houses your biometrics, weekly audits, and training calendar.
**Glass Protocol Design System**
Every card, container, and interactive element has been rebuilt with Protocol's signature cyan-tinted glass aesthetic. The old gray and black boxes are gone — replaced by a cohesive, translucent design language that feels like it belongs in a mission control interface.
**Animated Launch Experience**
Calorie and macro numbers now count up with a smooth animation the moment you open the app. Progress bars animate in sync — so every launch feels alive, not static.
**Refined Visual Hierarchy**
A new proportionally-scaled Protocol logo anchors the nutrition page and adapts to every screen size. The calorie display has been softened and resized for better balance. Each macro — protein, carbs, and fat — now carries its own distinct color and a green status indicator so you can read your dashboard at a glance.
**Streamlined Navigation**
Chevrons, lock icons, and visual clutter have been stripped out entirely. Tap targets have been expanded across every interactive card — no more dead zones. The navigation bar is hidden for maximum screen real estate. Meal logging now flows naturally: meals first, schedule and supplements below.
**Coach Intel & Workout Access**
The Compliance page now surfaces your Coach Intel feed and a quick-access Workout banner right below your daily directives — so your training plan is never more than one tap away.
**System Calibration Intelligence**
Protocol's adaptive engine now shows you exactly what it's learning — and how close it is to fully personalizing your experience.
**Live Calibration Dashboard**
A new card on your home screen tracks the status of every intelligence system as it learns your patterns. Watch your TDEE estimate, meal timing model, compliance baseline, weekly audit, coach profile, and body composition scan go from "Awaiting Data" to "Online" in real time.
**Smarter First-Week Coaching**
Your AI coach now understands that it's still learning about you. During your first 1–2 weeks, it proactively explains what data it needs, why recommendations will sharpen over time, and celebrates each system that comes online — so you always know the app is working, not guessing.
**Calibration Milestone Notifications**
Get notified the moment a key system finishes calibrating. Each milestone means more personalized guidance — and you'll know exactly when it happens.
**All Systems Online**
Once every intelligence system is fully calibrated, the dashboard celebrates with an "All Systems Online" confirmation before gracefully disappearing — your Protocol is now fully yours.

Subscription & Account
- Fixed an issue where canceling an annual subscription would immediately remove access instead of keeping it active through the end of the paid period
- Improved subscription status detection — the app now syncs your subscription state with Apple every time you open it, so your access stays accurate
- Fixed a rare issue where the same subscription could be purchased twice

- The card updates in real time — if you uncheck exercises, it expands back to full view
- Nutrition section now expanded by default on first launch
Chronicle
- Progress entries now only appear after the day has passed, so you won't see incomplete "today" rows in your history
- Improved workout detection — Chronicle now recognizes completed workouts whether you checked off exercises, completed the task, or logged through the workout screen
Coach
- Removed redundant streak callouts from coach notes since Chronicle already displays your streak
Security
- Strengthened subscription data integrity

TDEE CALIBRATION
- TDEE data quality warnings now tell you exactly what's blocking calibration instead of generic messages — "No weight logged – weigh in to calibrate," "Only 3 days logged – need 5+," "High calorie variance – log more consistently," or "6.2lb swing too large"
10.8 Mar 21
Smarter notifications. Adaptive meal timing. Workout-aware coaching.
NOTIFICATIONS
- Protocol now sends daily nudges that fire whether or not the app has been opened — morning intake, evening compliance, and fasting check-ins all run on repeating schedules like meal reminders
- Pre-workout fuel alerts only fire on days you have a training plan generated — no more irrelevant nudges on rest days
- Post-workout recovery notifications stop once you've logged your session
- New morning weigh-in reminder at wake + 15 min prompts you to step on the scale before breakfast — stays quiet if you've already logged
MEAL TIMING
- Adaptive meal scheduling learns from your last 7 days of logged meals and adjusts your slot times to match your real eating patterns
- Wake and sleep times are used as a fallback until Protocol has enough data to adapt
- Fixed an issue where the coach would show "Meal 2 at 3:00 PM" guidance when no meals had been logged — fasting and empty-state tips now display correctly regardless of time of day
TRAINING
- Today's training card now stays visible after generating a workout — shows your workout title, focus area, and block breakdown with exercise counts instead of disappearing

7.6 Feb 14
### Smarter Calorie Tracking
Fixed an issue where meal scan calories could differ from the macros breakdown. Calories are now always derived directly from your parsed protein, carbs, and fat — so the numbers always add up.
### Apple Watch TDEE Integration
If you wear an Apple Watch, Protocol now reads your active and resting energy data to calculate a significantly more accurate TDEE. Watch-measured energy replaces formula estimates, bringing accuracy from ±300 kcal down to roughly ±100 kcal.
### 7-Day Health Backfill
Protocol now pulls your last 7 days of steps, active minutes, and sleep from Apple Health on first launch. This means your TDEE and activity level are dialed in from day one — no more waiting a week for accurate readings.
### Improved TDEE Engine
The adaptive TDEE system now uses a three-tier priority: Apple Watch energy data first, body composition scans second, and formula-based estimation as a fallback. Your calorie targets get more precise as more data becomes available.
### Bug Fixes & Stability
General improvements to Health data syncing and biometrics persistence.
7.3 Feb 12
