《西域遺跡手記》是一款以西域古城遺跡為背景的單機解謎冒險遊戲。
玩家將從高昌鎮出發，逐步前往交河故城、樓蘭舊城、尼雅遺址與女王墓入口，調查不同墓室中的機關、路線和文物線索。每座城市都有獨立的墓室進度、場景背景和探索目標。
遊戲包含墓室地圖探索、城市旅行事件、文物收集、背包管理、文物鑑定、賞金任務和打工小遊戲等內容。下墓過程中可能遇到機關、怪物、寶箱和複雜地形，玩家需要根據當前道具、路線和事件選擇繼續探索或返回城鎮整理補給。
獲得的文物會進入背包，未鑑定的文物無法出售。鑑定後會根據品質顯示不同價值，玩家可以出售文物獲得金幣，用於後續的探索準備。每次完成墓室探索後，系統會保存章節進度，並在結算介面展示本次獲得的文物和獎勵。
這是一段從古鎮出發、穿越遺跡、整理線索、鑑定文物並逐步接近女王墓真相的探險旅程。
