Paperless Ingest is the perfect companion app for your Paperless-ngx document management server. Scan paper documents with your iPhone or iPad and upload them directly to your server — with smart metadata detection that makes organizing effortless. SMART DOCUMENT SCANNING Use iOS's built-in document scanner with automatic edge detection, perspective correction, and multi-page support. Just point your camera at a document and let the app do the rest. ON-DEVICE AI ANALYSIS Before uploading, the app analyzes your document entirely on-device: • Title Detection — Automatically finds subject lines in multiple languages (Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish). Looks for keywords like "Subject:", "Onderwerp:", "Betreff:", and more. • Correspondent Matching — Compares detected text against your existing Paperless correspondents and suggests the best match. • Document Type Recognition — Identifies invoices, receipts, contracts, letters, bank statements, tax documents, medical records, and insurance documents. • Date Extraction — Finds and extracts document dates automatically. PRIVACY FIRST All document analysis happens on your device using Apple's Vision and Natural Language frameworks. No document content is ever sent to external AI services or cloud processors. Only the final PDF and the metadata you approve are sent to your own Paperless-ngx server. FULL METADATA SUPPORT Before uploading, you can review and adjust: • Document title • Correspondent (with search and create-new option) • Document type (with search and create-new option) • Tags • Document date SEAMLESS INTEGRATION Works with any Paperless-ngx server (v1.0 and later). Supports both API token and username/password authentication. The app fetches your existing correspondents, document types, and tags so you can organize documents consistently. MULTILINGUAL Title and subject detection works with documents in: • Dutch (onderwerp, betreft, inzake) • English (subject, re, regarding) • German (betreff, betrifft) • French (objet, sujet) • Spanish (asunto) Document type detection includes terms in multiple languages, with extensive Dutch support for invoices (factuur), insurance (verzekering), tax documents (belasting), and more.
