If you're writing it down in a note, it's probably important. The thing is, getting the important stuff is often too hard. Your notes should already know about your meetings and events. And, if you're taking notes in a meeting, you're probably leaving with action steps. Meetings shouldn’t end in scattered notes and forgotten follow-ups. Contextly turns what you capture into what you do—right on your Mac.
Contextly connects your notes to your calendar so every thought lives in context. Record a meeting (or drop in an audio file), and Contextly transcribes it on device, summarizes the conversation, and generates clear action steps you can actually use.
Then, send those action steps to your preferred task manager as to-dos with the click of a button. Connect Things 3, Reminders, Omnifocus, or Todoist, and turn your meeting notes into action without juggling multiple apps.
Instead of revisiting notes later, you leave every meeting with decisions, tasks, and momentum.
What you can do with Contextly:
Capture notes in context
Link notes to calendar events automatically so you always know when, where, and why something was written.
Record and transcribe meetings
Use built-in recording or import audio. Transcription runs on your Mac for speed and privacy.
Summarize instantly
Get clean, readable summaries that highlight what matters—no manual cleanup required.
Turn conversations into action
Contextly generates actionable next steps from your notes. Review, edit, and send them where you work.
Sync with your task manager
Send tasks to Things, OmniFocus, Todoist, or Apple Reminders.

Clean interface. Intuitive to use. Appreciate the appearance/color options and ability to hide the calendar. Grateful that iCloud sync is baked in. Decently buggy on my iPad, but it’s a brand new app. Solid on my iPhone. Even available on AVP, which I appreciate!!! ❤️🩵💛 I love the easy pdf export on the Mac, the ability to have a note take up the full window and get rid of all the other visual noise, and the ability to customize font size. A one week free trail of the pro capabilities might be useful, but $5/mo is pretty reasonable, so I’ll give it a go for a month and if I like it, I’ll do the annual subscription.
Meeting Notes

I really like this. It’s simple, uncluttered. 2 things I think would convince me to spring for the pro plan. 1. A lot of my tasks throughout the day are trigged by emails. It would be nice to incorporate emails somehow for reference. 2. I’m in a ton of meetings, but they’re all on Zoom. This doesn’t integrate with audio properly to transcribe those correctly. I’m using Notion but it’s overkill. I’d love to use this.
Love the simplicity!

I am in meetings for about 50% of job, so the ability to take notes associated directly with my calendar entry is huge. One suggestion, is to have RTF tools available for those who don’t know Markdown. I know it, but it’s not like muscle memory to me, so having another option for formatting would be nice.
Developer Response
Thanks for using Contextly! So the app does have rich text formatting options in addition to Markdown. Both the Mac and iPhone have the option if you select the formatting button (Aa).
Removing friction

This app removes the friction of capturing information and making it into action. It has quickly become a key tool for me.
Minor bug fixes while we work on the good stuff coming this fall! Improved audio transcription and a live activity during recording/transcribing.
