Specialty coffee shops, vetted by curators — not popularity. Find third-wave cafés, roasters, and pour-over bars worth your visit.
Bloom is a guide to specialty coffee shops worth visiting.
Every shop is reviewed by a curator before it appears. Submissions pass an eligibility quiz covering espresso, brew methods, sourcing, and equipment. The bar is "actually third-wave," not "popular on Google Maps."
What you get
- A quality tier for every shop, from Hidden gem to Exceptional
- Photos and menus for every listing, so you know what to order
- Filter by tier, brew method, or attributes like single origin and in-house roasting
- Save the ones you want to visit, ready offline
Who Bloom is for
- People who care about origin, roast, and preparation
- Travelers who want signal, not noise, in a new city
- Anyone tired of "best coffee in town" lists ranked by foot traffic
How shops get in
Submit a shop you love. Walk through a short eligibility quiz, add an exterior photo and a menu shot, and a curator will review within a few days. If it fits the bar, it lands on the map for everyone.
Privacy
Photos are stripped of EXIF and GPS before upload. Menu text is extracted on your device. We don't sell or share data. Full details at thebloomguide.app/privacy.

Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Quality tiers
Every shop now shows a named tier: Hidden gem, Noteworthy, Solid, Excellent, or Exceptional. The numeric score is still there, but the tier tells you what it means at a glance.
Map pins are colored by tier so you can spot quality without tapping. Tap the filter icon to reveal tier pills that double as a legend and a filter. Tap a tier to set your minimum.
More submissions reach curators
Previously, shops scoring below 5.0 were silently rejected. Now every non-disqualified submission goes to the curator queue. A human decides, not the math. If your submission was blocked before, try again.
Menu photo required
Submissions now require a menu photo alongside the exterior shot. Menus show bean origins, brew methods, and roaster names, giving curators better evidence to make fair calls. Interior photo is still optional.
Rejection details
If a curator rejects your submission, you now see the rejection category and any note they left. Previously this was a silent X with no explanation.
Unread rejections badge
A badge dot appears on the Profile tab when a submission has been rejected since you last checked. No push notifications needed.
Curator queue improvements
Curators now see all submission photos in a carousel, every rubric answer with the question text, and the submitter's optional note. Makes review faster and fairer.
Bug fixes
- Shops that roast in-house were incorrectly tagged as "rotating roasters." Fixed.
- Extra photos in the submission grid were squished. Fixed.
- The rejection reason chevron on Profile was not tappable. Fixed.
