Atmos scores the sunset and sunset, clouds, Milky Way window, and aurora forecast before you leave the house. Built by photographers, for photographers. 14-day free trial
Atmos Weather is the weather app built for photographers who take conditions seriously.
Open Atmos before a shoot and see exactly what the sky has in store — not just temperature and rain, but a scored forecast for golden hour, sunset, sunrise, Milky Way, aurora, and more. Every condition is rated from 0 to 100 so you know whether it’s worth setting the alarm.
What Atmos covers:
Sunset and sunrise prediction with sub-scores for color potential, cloud geometry, horizon gap, and visibility. No more showing up for a flat sky. Tap a cloud type and learn about what you are looking at.
Milky Way planning with galactic core rise, peak, and set times, dark sky Bortle class, moon illumination, and a sky transparency score.
Aurora forecasting with real-time Kp index, BZ, and solar wind data, plus a camera visibility range so you know if your latitude can actually capture it.
Shoot recommendations scored by genre (landscape, wildlife, infrared, and more) with the best time window for each, updated throughout the day.
Moon position, phase, altitude, and azimuth so every moonrise shot is lined up before you leave the house.
Tides from NOAA for coastal and seascape photographers.
Satellite imagery refreshing every 10 minutes from NASA GIBS and GOES-West.
Dew point and fog prediction, air quality, cloud layers, and detailed atmospheric data that actually matters to photographers.
Atmos is $29.99 per year to cover weather APIs; less than the cost of one wasted trip.

I’m a hobby photographer who shoots a wide range of genres, including landscape, wildlife, astro, and macro. Whenever I plan what gear to pack for a day trip or a national park adventure, I always struggle to decide which lenses and equipment to bring. I’d end up referencing multiple sources and spending 30 minutes Googling tidal charts, aurora forecasts, and Milky Way charts just to figure out how to maximize my chances of getting great shots (because I’m greedy, lol). This app answered my prayers! Now I can easily find everything I’m looking for in one place, presented in a way that’s direct and easy to understand, and pack accordingly for my day. Kudos to a fellow photographer for making this happen!
Best Weather App for Photographers
knxg86
I’m a professional photographer and Atmos is the best weather app that helps me plan my shoots for the next few days or, in cases where the weather is unexpected, pivot and choose the best fit genre of photography for the conditions. The app takes into account the variables specific to photography and has an easy to use interface. We need more apps like this!
Honestly perfect for all types of photographers

I love how well laid out this app is, it’s simple to navigate with a lot of detailed information to help you in all sorts of ways! I recently used 3-4 different apps to gather all the information that is presented in this one app! Definitely becoming my go to app for scouting weather before a shoot!
Photography weather made easy!
