Suscipe is a Catholic devotional companion rooted in the Ignatian tradition. The prayer that gives the app its name — Suscipe, Domine, universam meam libertatem — sits at its heart.
THE DAILY EXAMEN
Pray Saint Ignatius's five-step Examen of Consciousness in the morning to direct the day, and again in the evening to read it. Each step opens with a prompt and an invitation — Latin alongside English on every step. Close the morning Examen with the Suscipe; close the evening with the Pater Noster or, if you prefer, the Anima Christi.
THE THIRTY-DAY SPIRITUAL EXERCISES
The full Ignatian retreat in its traditional structure, beginning with the Principle and Foundation and walking through the Four Weeks: Sin and Mercy, the Public Life of Christ, the Passion, and the Resurrection. Each day opens with a hub — foundation quote, today's structure, opening CTA — and a six-step flow: preparatory prayer, composition of place, petition for grace, meditation points, colloquy, and the Pater Noster.
THE PRAYER LIBRARY
Thirteen central Catholic prayers in their canonical Latin and traditional English: Suscipe, Anima Christi, Prayer for Generosity, Pater Noster, Ave Maria, Gloria Patri, Memorare, Veni Creator Spiritus, Salve Regina, Angelus, Te Deum, Magnificat, and the Act of Contrition. Each carries an authorship note, a source citation, and where helpful a note on the language tradition.

A reverent biography in seven sections — the soldier of Loyola, his conversion, Montserrat and Manresa, Paris, the first companions, the founding of the Society of Jesus, his death and canonization — with a Spiritual Legacy section, the Sacred Places of his life (Loyola, Montserrat, Manresa, Paris, La Storta, Rome), and his sayings.

PRIVACY
Your prayer history, journal entries, retreat day completions, and Examen reflections live on your device. If iCloud is enabled, they sync through Apple's end-to-end encrypted iCloud backup. No analytics, no third-party trackers, no servers we run.
A NOTE ON THE TEXTS
The Catholic prayers in Suscipe come down to us in Latin from the Roman Missal, the Vulgate, and the Raccolta. The English is Edward Caswall's nineteenth-century translation paired with the traditional forms. Scripture is from the Douay-Rheims. St. Ignatius wrote his Spiritual Exercises in Spanish — El Rey Eterno, Principio y Fundamento are his own words, not Latin translations. The app preserves these distinctions because language is part of what the prayer is.
