Otay is a private journal for two.
You and your partner share one small photo quest at a time. Take a photo with something yellow. A window you love. Something you can't believe you've never photographed. You each answer with a photo, a caption, a mood, and where you were. Both answers land side by side in a shared journal only the two of you can see, and your widgets update the moment one of you finishes. When you've both answered, a new quest appears.
That's the whole app. No feed. No likes. No strangers. No followers.
HOW IT WORKS
- Sign in with Apple, Google, or email, then pair with your partner using a simple invite code.
- Get a quest. Snap it with the dual camera: back camera for the moment, front camera for you. Add a caption and a mood.
- Not feeling this one? Reroll for a fresh quest.
- Your memories stack into a shared timeline and a photo calendar, and resurface as throwbacks like "two years ago today."
- Share any memory as a story, square, wide, or photo-strip layout.
WHAT'S FREE
Otay is free to use, with no time limit:

- Your most recent 30 days of memories, in both the journal and the calendar.
Please note: on the free plan, photos and memories are kept for 30 days and then fade. Subscribe to Otay Premium to keep everything permanently.

Otay Premium keeps your story forever and unlocks the extras. One subscription covers both partners, so when either of you subscribes, you both get Premium:
- Unlimited memory history. Every photo kept permanently, never faded.
- A full-history memories calendar, back to your very first quest.
- Custom quest cadence and quiet hours, so you set the rhythm that fits the two of you.
- "New quest now" to skip the wait whenever you want a fresh quest.

SUBSCRIPTION
Otay Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, available as a monthly or yearly plan. The yearly plan starts with a 14-day free trial. A one-time Lifetime purchase is also available. Prices are shown in the app and may vary by region.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the same price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends. Starting a paid subscription forfeits any unused portion of the free trial. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings after purchase.

- Onboarding opens on the app itself, so you can see how Otay works before you sign up.
- Two quick questions at the start so your quests suit how close you two live and the kind of moments you like.
- Tap the die and pick a theme, no more rolling blind. If your partner has already answered, we warn you before anything is lost.
- Sending a "thinking of you" now says what it does, and fills the screen when you send one.
- Quest photos are always taken in the moment.
- Your own photo now sits at the top of Settings.
- Better place names, a clearer map, and the distance between you on the line.
- Fixes: the Memories tab refreshes on its own, tapping a notification opens the finished memory, and signing out no longer needs an app restart.
