Charaka is a free NEET-UG prep app built in India, named after the ancient physician whose treatises shaped Indian medicine. It's designed for one thing: deliberate, distraction-free practice for the Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology aspirants take on every year.

- 960+ practice questions across all four NEET subjects, mapped to NCERT chapters and tagged by concept and difficulty.
- A custom "PYQ-style" library — past-year-pattern variants for NEET 2019 to 2024, marked clearly so you know when you're rehearsing exam-style stems vs original Saras-authored questions.
- Hint ladders on every question — four progressively bigger nudges before the full explanation, so you're forced to think before you reveal.
- Concept-mastery tracking via Bayesian Knowledge Tracing — your dashboard shows what you've actually internalised, not just what you've attempted.
- Mock tests in three flavours: Full NEET (180 questions, NTA timing), Subject (45 questions), and Chapter or fully Custom paper sets with locked timing, locked difficulty filters, and ad-free runtime.
- Previous-year paper mode — attempt entire NEET pattern papers from a chosen year.

ON-DEVICE AI, FOR REAL
The AI tutor uses Apple's Foundation Models framework, which runs inside iOS itself on Apple Intelligence–eligible iPhones (iOS 26+). Your prompts and the model's responses never leave your phone. We have no server. We have no logs. We could not retrieve your AI conversation if you paid us to.
PRIVACY YOU CAN AUDIT
- No account creation, sign-in, email, or phone number — ever.
- No analytics SDKs. No crash reporters operated by us. No A/B testing. No remote logging.
- No camera, microphone, location, contacts, or App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- All your attempts, notes, sketches, imported PDFs, and mock-test results are stored only on your device via Apple's SwiftData framework.
- Ads are served by Google AdMob configured with the most restrictive privacy posture available: under-age-of-consent treatment globally, no IDFA, no personalisation, G-rated creatives only, SKAdNetwork attribution only.
- Ads are deliberately suppressed inside mock tests, the AI tutor, and your Notes / Sketches / PDF reader.
WHY THIS EXISTS
Most NEET prep apps treat students as a funnel — sign up, hand over your phone number, get retargeted on Instagram, pay ₹6,000 for a "premium" tier that just unlocks what was always there. Charaka is the opposite of that. It is free for everyone, ad-supported, and built so that nothing about your study habits leaks back to us. There are no in-app purchases of any kind. No subscription, no remove-ads upgrade, no premium content.

Charaka 1.1.0 — Indian languages & wellbeing
Charaka now speaks the languages you study in. Full app translated into 12 Indian languages: Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Assamese, and Kashmiri. Change your iPhone's language in Settings to see Charaka in your language.
New: gentle exam countdown card on Home (auto-hides after exam day).
New: daily intention prompt — tell Charaka if today is for revising weak concepts, tackling something new, or just practicing without pressure.
New: two-minute breathing breaks between practice sets (sage circle, 4-7-8 rhythm).
