HeyBud now runs on a freemium model — the app is free to explore with one daily affirmation, streak tracking, and copy/share, while Guided Sessions, Mood Tracking, Saved Affirmations, Category Customization, multiple daily notifications, and additional languages are now premium features shown as tappable upgrade cards throughout the app. The old blocking paywall has been replaced with a dismissible upgrade sheet that appears once per day as a soft prompt, and automatically surfaces as a contextual paywall naming the specific feature whenever a free user taps something premium. Several quality improvements shipped alongside this: a Restore Purchases button was added to the paywall, the app now detects subscription changes in real time so purchases unlock instantly, and the onboarding terms page was locked so users must accept before proceeding.
