Veil is a private photo vault for people who take privacy seriously — no ads, no data collection, and protection that works even when someone is standing over your shoulder.
Most "private" photo apps bombard you with ads, lose your photos when you switch phones, and use fake locks that don't really encrypt anything. Veil is the opposite.

Your photos and videos are encrypted on your device with AES-256 and a key derived from your password (200,000-round PBKDF2). Get the password wrong and your photos are mathematically unreadable — not just "hidden." We never see your data. Neither does anyone else.
— DECOY PASSWORD —
Forced to unlock your phone? Type your decoy password instead. Veil opens a separate, innocent-looking vault — your real photos stay invisible. Designed for in-the-moment situations where you're pressured to "just show me."
— INTRUDER SELFIE —
If someone enters the wrong password, Veil silently snaps a photo with the front camera so you can see exactly who tried to get in. No shutter sound. Fully encrypted.
— AUTO-ERASE UNDER DURESS —
Optional, off by default: after too many wrong passwords in a row, your real vault is permanently erased. The last line of defense if your phone is taken from you.

Importing never deletes your originals unless you choose to. Built-in end-to-end encrypted iCloud sync means switching to a new iPhone brings everything back — encrypted the whole way, so even Apple can't read it.
