The game has a simple formula, and it’s fun. It’s not reinventing the wheel, but it doesn’t have to. I like the art, it runs smoothly, I like the gear system (particularly the wide variety of set bonuses), it’s a fun little time killer. I do have a few issues with it, but the game seems pretty new and there isn’t anything that can’t be fixed. If you don’t mind grinding and/or have a tolerance for ads, you can make progress without spending. My biggest issue: clearing the first chapter. It is too difficult to do this and I think it harms the game. The second chapter unlocks a new hero that offers a new way to play and introduces you to the fact other playstyles exist. But if it’s too difficult to clear the very first chapter you may give up before you ever learn that. I get it’s a F2P game that wants to incentivize you to spend money, but creating a barrier in what is essentially the tutorial isn’t going to help conversion. It creates a barrier that can prevent players from becoming engaged. This needs some rebalancing I feel. Cash shop wise: you can purchase gear sets in the cash shop, but you cannot view the stats of the items until you acquire a piece via gameplay and can inspect it. Why would you buy something when you have no clue what it does? Lack of clarity around purchases is a common issue in this game. It also has the annoying forced ads thing, which while it is becoming more common in iOS games, it’s still annoying. To its credit however, I have not had an actual gameplay match interrupted by one of these ads yet. Hopefully that holds true. I don’t think this game deserves its current low rating, so I wanted to throw in my two cents.
