The must-have app for pétanque, bocce ... or any other game requiring a distance measurement between bowls and jack ! The Booble app allows you to automatically measure the distance between the boules and the jack during a pétanque game. Its interface is extremely simple and intuitive: 1. The picture is taken automatically using the embedded bubble level. 2. One only has to touch the boules and the jack on the screen and the application will automatically – through advanced visual recognition algorithms used in the industry - locate them. 3. The ranking order appears in real-time. 4. If necessary, manual adjustments are possible: the boules rankings will then automatically and dynamically adjust. A zoom mode allows the user to validate the measurements' accuracy. The app allows up to 6 boules to be simultaneously measured. Booble is available in French, English, Spanish and Deutsch.

Great Tool For Scoring Petanque or Bocce

This app/tool is very fast and easy to use. It is MORE accurate than measuring directly with a tape. The reason it is more accurate is because: 1) There is no need to touch the ball and accidentally move it, 2) The automatic magnification of the closest edges of the jack and the ball being measured makes for perfect adjustment of the measuring arrow, 2) There is no distortion of the ball images due the photo image not being level, because the photo will only be automatically shot when the camera is perfectly parallel to the ground.I tried free version first and it worked very well, but there were way too many ads. So I bought the ads-free version. It also works very well and the are NO ADS😊👌

A Great App for Bocce Players!

Booble Premium has proven to be an invaluable tool for measuring during any bocce (or petanque) match. It is easy to use and more accurate than manual rulers, especially where a tool cannot fit in the spaces between the balls. It is not dependent on a steady hand and does not require anyone to kneel down, thereby eliminating the risk of accidentally moving balls. It’s bubble level feature does not allow the picure to be taken unless the phone is level - which was a flaw in other measuring apps. Lastly, I compliment the developer for excellent customer service. Much better than a tape, but not automatic

My Petanque friends now love this, although I’m now called for every measurement : ). I give it four stars because only the camera is automatic. It does not automatically locate and measure the boules as the description suggests. You have to scale the jack and then measure each boule manually. If it measured all surrounding boules automatically it would deserve 6 stars if I could. Maybe an app update will fully automate the measurements.

I initially posted a negative review because I thought the app did not work. Thankfully the app owners got in touch to let me know I needed to authorize my iPhone camera to allow the app to use it. It does work and it’s terrific. I play bocce 4 times a week and this tool will be invaluable. I highly recommend the app!!!
