Sony discontinued the PlayMemories Mobile interface in March 2017. Cameras released after this date such as the Sony a7R III may not be compatible to GoCamera. Please read your camera’s user manual or visit Sony’s support website for further information on device support.
Please note that some devices need to install the ‘Smart Remote Embedded’ service from the camera's built-in app store to enable WiFi connectivity. Please adhere to your camera's manual. Furthermore, being a third party developer, we cannot guarantee device support for all PlayMemories Mobile cameras as Sony can restrict third party usage and change interface settings at its own discretion.

There is no control over which photos to download where. It tries to take control of downloading and makes a mess. It doesn’t let me delete the photos from the camera after downloading.

I thought because of the 3.2 or whatever the average rating is now that this app might work, and if not I could just get a refund, both FALSE! The app does not let me change ANY setting once connected(it tricks you and connects like its gonna work) at least the free wireless camera control apps let me control one perimeter, I think it’s the aperture, this one doesn’t even do that. And when I tried to get a refund I was told to wait for the apple receipt to be emailed to me, I tried getting a refund 5 mins after the email came in and I got an automated message from apple saying “This purchase is not eligible for a refund” not verbatim but close. Horrible horrible experience, I don’t know how these paid apps are allowed to continue being sold on the App Store with such blatant lies.

Pretty sure this has to be a scam. The app tricks you by allowing you to control your camera with your phone, but the minute you try to adjust any setting or try to take a picture, the app freezes and locks you out with a loading screen that never goes away. Complete waste of money. App doesn’t even have a setting to download the pictures you have taken to your phone. Why is apple allowing this on their App Store??

Hope that got your attention…After reading other comments I won’t waste my time trying to get my money back. I accept the directions on my camera to be brief/vague but I’d expect an app - with limitless options for character detail - to explain how this is supposed to work. My thumb has cramped trying to click my way thru using just my camera “menu” button. It’s been an hour, I’ve made no progress. I need a drink and a handful of Advil.Frustrated!
