I am really enjoying this app! I originally tried the free version, and was concerned that it would be super time consuming and more of a hassle than helpful, but I’ve liked it so much that I bought the year plan. It’s easy to use and, with just a quick photo of the barcode as I bring groceries into my house, I can keep track of what all is here. I really like how I can have multiple inventory locations, which is helpful because I have my working pantry in the kitchen, and then a back pantry where I keep extras. When I’m at the store, I can see the quantities of the items I have at home so I know if I need to get more. I also find it helpful that I can easily “move” my items to different locations on the app, if I move it physically here, which has helped me, as I have a category for opened inventory. It has helped me become much more aware of what I actually have here at my house, and has reduced stuff getting lost in the back of the cabinet. I also have started using it to inventory my gardening seeds as well, so I know what seeds I have already purchased. So far, I haven’t found anything I can really complain about it. At first, I was having difficulty trying to find my item when I went to mark it as finished, but then I discovered I could search my inventory using an image of the barcode, and it would pull the item up for me, instead of me having to search. So that was great! It has proven to be a most useful app. I would highly recommend it, if you’re wanting to have better control and keep track of what’s in your house/pantry.

I've written many reviews on various platforms for products, services and applications. Pantry Check has been the most integrated into my daily life in our family. Whether you are on a budget, trying to organize or just hate finding food you forgot all about - this app covers all the bases. Easily you can barcode all of the items in your pantry, storage or cabinets, add quantities and expiration dates. From there you can assign locations so you know where your food is : basement, garage, etc. If you use it, go to the overall list and barcode it. Click it off and done. I can't say enough good things about it. The app development and support team are outstanding, extremely pleasant and very helpful. Dealing with them makes me think "Amex, Bose, or Apple," level quality of care in the way I've been treated. Top tier of all customer service experiences I've ever had without any reservation. Paying for the yearly service is definitely worth it in my opinion if you are going to be tracking a large amount of items. The devs support family sharing and I can attest that if my wife makes a change I see it in real time. There are so many more features I have not even touched on as I continue to learn more and more each time I use it. I assure you this will not disappoint. I never review apps. I wanted something like this to help keep track of what we need when we’re out of the house, and lo and behold it exists. We live in a small town about 30 minutes away from the nearest grocery store, so an app like this is super useful to know what we have at home if we’re out of town and want to grab something to make a recipe for dinner. I’m a pharmacist so I’m used to the mindset of perpetual inventory of tracking every single small item, and it’s helped a ton in our pharmacy and it helps at home too. Scanner works great, and the community is big and active enough apparently that almost every item is altering the database when scanning continuously after we buy groceries. Even if not, incredibly easy and prompted to add a new product with an updated picture. Auto populates estimated expiration dates, automatically generates lists of what’s about to expire, automatically sorts. Very very very useful. Exactly what I wanted. My only complaint is that the Export Inventory button is pretty much one dimensional — needs more options to only export certain sections or in other formats. Pretty tough to just get a text list out. Other than that, a big fan of this app. Very affordable, will continue paying for the upgraded membership to track my whole kitchen.

I got this app because my household went from 3 adults to only me overnight. All of a sudden, I had so much food in my pantry and refrigerator! I had to learn new ways to eat healthy and not waste food, especially fresh fruits and veggies. This app really filled my need. It is labor intensive at first, but once you get the routine down, the rhythm flows.My biggest complaint is that there is no “undo” button for inventory or shopping lists. I am constantly erasing entries by accident because of my clumsy fingers. The sliding gage that you set the %used is too close to the “finished” button. It takes more time to have to re-set up the product in my inventory again than it would to just reverse the last action (as when editing a photo of a new product). My second complaint is that when you enter a new food item and assign a new location, it automatically assigns the food category, and it’s not always what I would have selected. I have to do a separate search for the item that I just set up to figure out how the app classified it. If it showed me the automatic classification before transferring it into inventory , I could have the chance to edit the category to what I wanted it to read before I added it to inventory.I really like the app and purchased the upgrade. It has helped me cut down on impulse or duplicate food buying and food waste from spoilage. Both have allowed me to save a significant amount of money on my budget.
