I REALLY utilize this app to the fullest!

This app is on the TOP OF MY FAVVSSs. It’s helpful in so many ways! not only- does it have speech recognition to help you pronounce and hear the word your looking up, or coming across!! But you can also see and understand the vowel/consonant placements/expressions visually and listening. Another reason it’s helpful and enjoyable bc the app gives you a sentence to support what the word your looking up/or came across means.… but my MOST FAVORITE feature of all is…. the synonym and antonym category/lists of words that are either similar or opposite of that vocabulary word/or phrases your searching for!! I give this app a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It gives me ALL the qualities I need in the real life world. This app can be useful for many different tasks, solutions, resolutions, conversations, essays, meetings, homework, journaling, music, poetry… you can utilize this app for many different reasonings as I listed!! You won’t be disappointed ✨❤️‼️💯🧘🏼‍♀️✌🏼Why is a lot of people saying it crashes? I was t paying attention if they were old reviews and since then they have fixed the bug and software issue… but I never have. A problem with it. I find this app very helpful and useful as I stated above.

Perfect for writers, extra features are awesome

This isn’t just your typical thesaurus. It has so many features like “similar words”, “sounds like” words, “related” “broader” “narrower” and my favorite part is they even have a “rhyme” list for each word (well, not every word has every feature because that’s impossible, but fantastic amount of features for every word). The developers are clearly very creative and don’t just give the typical dictionary responses, i imagine a group of ten plus people around a table, brainstorming and thinking of every possible word they can to add to all the lists available. This is PERFECT for any author, a poet, song writer, novelist, even a textbook writer. The app has such in depth features that you will find the word you are looking for every time- you will probably find a better word than you wanted in the first place and find new words too. I love exploring it when I have free time to teach myself new words, it even has a little speech button to press and quickly hear the word pronounced. It’s very accessible and simple to use and look at. Clean interface, neat set up. It’s not a “fancy” looking app at all, but I prefer the simplicity of this app. It’s so fantastic it doesn’t need fancy bells and whistles to confuse things. Recommend for any writer or a student writing essays, or anyone who has to write up reports or anything in their daily job/life. It will make your life easier and your writing so much better, and more unique. You will be using words you don’t hear often in no time, and word choice can make an okay piece of writing into a strong piece of writing quickly. Great for musicians or poets who are trying to find a word to rhyme with something that they don’t want to change (I hate when I feel like I have to change my word choice because I’m going to break my rhyme scheme because of it...not anymore!)

Absolutely indispensable

I've always had a relatively large vocabulary, but this resource is SO helpful at finding alternate and more impactful words, that I find myself using it a LOT and it's helped to recover a lot of the vocabulary that just starts slipping through the cracks when speaking in today's barely literate world. I love it! The only gripe I have about it is that it's just an interface to the website. I'd happily pay a few bucks to have a local database that syncs to the website periodically. Then this would be a 5 star app. It is a drag to have to copy and paste into a separate app rather than just get a list of the alternates within your current app, but there's nothing they can do about that unless Apple implements something like macOS Services in iOS. They even put a lot of thought into the rating request dialog. It is a polite button, not a pop-up, and it very respectfully asks if you'd like to rate now or later without interrupting what you're doing. This is a smart developer, because nothing makes the number of stars I'm apt to give drop faster than an annoying pop-up that wants me to rate the app before I've even had a chance to use it! Kudos!

Better than “just the dictionary”

I also have an etymology app, and both the AP Stylebook and the Chicago Manual of Style, so it’s safe to say that I am really into effective verbal communication. I say this not to brag — I still have a lot to learn — but because I know that many people are not so entranced by words. If you are not, a simple internet search for synonyms will probably satisfy you.If, however, you share my passion, this app could become an indispensable tool. It has for me because synonyms are not necessarily interchangeable words, so just having a list of words is inadequate; one needs to be able to define the nuances of each word, and this app makes that information quite readily available. The design is clean and simple, and the information is accurate and comprehensive. Kudos to the designers of the app and to the writers of the dictionaries it uses!
