i've been using this for a little under a year and it's been great, the best VPN i've used by far whenever i'm in a foreign country. great way to earn VPN time, quick and strong connections, reliable content access, etc. however, just today, after a few hours of using it, it disconnected (as it does) and i went back into the app to connect again. normally it's just the usual purple unicorn because i don't have the paid subscription, but this time after i opened the app it turned red. additionally, there's normally two settings underneath the unicorn, one being the area setting (fastest, North America, UK, EU, etc) and the other setting being what "content" i want to target when i connect, such as Netflix and services like that. getting into my first problem- i normally set my VPN connection area to North America, but that option is gone. only fastest, US East, US West, UK, EU, China, Japan, and South America are left. my second problem is that the other setting that's normally there, the one that "target connects" to different services like Netflix, is completely gone. it's not there anymore. i tried connecting again just setting my area to EU or UK or US East, but it doesn't let me access content anymore, not like earlier today when everything was as usual. i then deleted the app, redownloaded it, and got more VPN time. it still doesn't work and has the same red unicorn of the premium version (i didn't pay for it or use the free trial, and it still shows me as being a free user) and missing features. this part of a new app update? not sure why my app is malfunctioning.

No Fake Review Needed
Haven’t rated an app in over a decade I’d venture to say; and I don’t think I’ve felt compelled to ever leave a review, considering how many opinions already echo any number of sentiments I’d be sharing. However, this app is totally perfection, and really is a great model for what providing a free app for a vital app should look like. When it comes to a VPN solution this was made those of us tired of paywalls, especially when tiered access is so prevalent, and lower tiers still watch ads that generate revenue on top of the premium you’re paying to access a given service. Once you’re done viewing ads for the time allotment you need, no more ads. They make you view their premium offer and bypass it for the basic, ad fueled version every time you connect, but it’s a small price for such a big payoff. If an ad won’t load or stalls, you still get credit for it. You don’t get rollover time - so watch ads in the increments they offer because they don’t issue VPN time in equal increments per ad you watch so it’s not advantageous to try and watch one ad in the 24 hr slot (thinking you’ll get 2 hours after the first one). It always connects, has a great deal of locations to choose from, doesn’t slow down connectivity (significantly) very often, and absolutely means free in the way of not requiring an in app purchase. Kudos developers, this deserves a higher rating than the current 4.6 IMHO.

However, this app is totally perfection, and really is a great model for what providing a free app for a vital app should look like. would give it a 4.5 if i could, since other reviews says there’s issues with subscription canceling but i don’t pay so it doesn’t matter to me. been using the app on and off for free for years, and it’s worked perfectly fine, as far as free vpn does. it’s slow to load pages, sure but that’s to be expected for a free vpn service. all the others are the same. ads work about 90% of the time, as long as you’re on wifi that isn’t terrible or on data. if there’s no prompt to skip or close the ad, just close and reopen. if there’s ads aren’t loading, close and reopen or just change from data to wifi or vice versa. the best part imo is being able to access multiple spots in multiple countries for free rather than a few spots in NA and a couple of countries like others. there’s a free trial for the premium, but the “with ads” works fine and offers more than the free versions of other well-known vpns that bait you with free and almost force you to pay.

While it may make my WiFi slow at times (as all VPNs do every now and then, especially since I’m not exactly paying for the best quality), this has been the one VPN app that I actually trust and have no issues with. I see others saying that they’re getting 50 ads when it should be 12 for 24 hours, it sounds as though they’re being a bit overdramatic or didn’t realize that after the first twelve ads you are supposed to click out of that screen. Not to mention — 12 ads for 24 hours of free VPN service which includes being able to change your location freely? You almost think it’s a scam, but of course; it isn’t. It’s literally one of the best VPNs free of use out there in my opinion. And the WiFi issue isn’t really a problem either, I’ve noticed that lately it’s been running even faster while I use it which makes me believe they have taken the time to edit and sort out that glitch. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a quick fix to change your IP. Also, you’re not being hacked when you use it just because the wifi is slow. Before anyone says that again, you REALLY need to research how VPNs work because any other VPN I use does the exact same thing every once in awhile.
