Update: I love that the developer is open to suggestions and actually improved the app! I wasn’t aware of the way to remove videos, you hold down the song in list view and it pops up an adult window. After that you can delete songs. They actually emailed me to let me know and added a shuffle button on this last update! I’m super excited about the app in general and it’s even better now! Excellent customer service, thank you! Original review: My daughter really loves Dave and Ava and I like that this app allows you to access all their content. But, it would be great if you could remove songs that have been previously downloaded. I’ve found that the holiday songs or a couple that I don’t like are rather inconvenient to “select all” and then unselect every time I want to give access to my daughter. Also, a “shuffle” feature would be amazing. She always ends up listening to the same 4-5 songs since they are at the beginning.

To the creators of Dave and Ava: THANK YOU SO MUCH! This is hands down the best app ever! My daughter, Mia, has been obsessed with these videos since she was super small (about 2 months old). She is now 7 months old and STILL enjoys your videos. She could be having a huge meltdown but as soon as I turn this app on she’s all smiles! She laughs while watching the videos too. She has her own iPad strictly for this app only. Therefore the lock button on the screen is amazing and so smart. She loves trying to touch the characters but the lock prevents her from exiting the app or changing settings. Please keep doing what y’all are doing and don’t stop! You guys bring my little girl so much joy! Hoping the app gets some updated videos soon!

So I love the tunes and the videos that go with them. However the interface is awful.You pay for the app, then you have to download every song separately? Ok, but then the downloads are incredibly slow (I have gigabit internet at home with an excellent WiFi network) and once you download a song you can’t delete it to manage your storage space.There’s also a sort of playlist system, but you can’t create different sets of playlists and save them. This interface feels really half-baked.I like the fact that it runs on an old version of iOS (I’m playing them on an old iPad 2), but that’s no excuse for such a poor interface design.It’d be much better (and an easy 5-star rating) if the initial download included all the songs and you could delete the ones you don’t want or if the current download system were really fast.You should also be able to make multiple playlists (like an all numbers or all letters playlist, but don’t make the playlists for us, let us build our own).Just because these songs are for children is no reason to handicap the interface this bad.

Dave and Ava is a great for any child to watch over any regular cartoons. Dave and Ava is beyond educational, adorable and keeps their attention. The app is so easy to navigate, you can put certain ones on repeat and switch up which ones they watch. Also their customer service is fantastic! I emailed them a question about an update, and not only did I get an immediate response but I got immediate results as well! I can’t say enough how this app is amazing for any infant/toddler, Dave and Ava is a life savor !! Looking forward to anything new Dave and Ava come out w it !

This app is fantastic. I love that I can download the videos and watch them off line. This has been a game changer for long car rides that were previously terrible. The only thing I wish was that you could make ‘play lists’ that were savable. Then I could make a couple play lists with different kinds of songs/play lengths and pick from those. Hand selecting the songs you want each time can get annoying. If they added this feature, the app would be perfection!

My three year old loves Dave and Ava and learns a lot of behaviors from these vids. This app has been great when traveling. My only complaint is the huge lock button that pops up when you touch the screen while a video is playing. Tapping it locks the app into the current mode disabling all of the controls, and requires an adult to unlock it. What a terrible idea it was to put a trap like that on the screen, locking children out of the ability to select another video by tapping an icon that they are curious about.
