Unfortunately it appears that the community app and desktop version aren’t well connected. So for example the gamification points don’t work the same in both places - mine are set to give people 150 points when they earn a badge, but the students don’t get those points if they earn their badge while using the app. Also the notifications are sketchy, and writing posts on my iPhone, if they have enough text to go to the bottom of the screen it’s often quite a chore to continue typing because the screen won’t allow me to scroll down and see what I’m typing or hit send without doing a lot of work scrolling back up and down until it eventually lets me see the new text. All that said, it’s still better than nothing with its minor and moderate annoyances, and allows my students to access the community on their phones, which obviously is critical to running a community. It also seems to work well for the live events and decently for the challenges, some video upload delays that make students think their uploads aren’t going through when actually most of the time it’s just back-end processing but not telling you that, notwithstanding…
I love this app! I love than anywhere in the world I go I can meet up with a lady from Girls Gone Global. I feel like I automatically have friends all over the world. I do have an idea about the group chat to make it easier to connect with people. Maybe there could be separate chats for separate regions (Europe, South East Asia, Central America, etc...) so we aren’t having the entire world in one group chat, which can feel very overwhelming. Have it so you can enter any chat. Say you’re from Canada but are visiting Indonesia, you can hop on the Indonesia chat to talk with people directly in your area. I’m also having a problem where the red notification symbol over the app on my iPhone doesn’t go away automatically after I’ve checked the notification. I have the close and renter the app a few times to get it to go away. Thank you so much for creating this app!!! I love it!
Thanks for your review! We're happy you've found such a great community.
I love the app, however there are some bug fixes needed: Anytime I try to upload a video as a post in the “circle” the app completely shuts down. No matter the size. It closes out and then won’t reopen. I have had to delete the entire app twice after trying to post a video. It only allows me to upload a video to the feeds if I go through the communities via the phone internet browser instead of the app. And then the video still won’t play, it just spins and spins as if it’s loading. If a member posts in the wrong “circle” the admin is not able to move it over to the correct one. It just has to be deleted all together. I love the “feeds” set up in the circles. It’s similar to Facebook style which is very appealing. I wish however when posting a link it would give a preview of the link just how FB does, instead of it just being the typed out link on the post.
Love it! Features I love as a customer in a coaching community (who is a business owner myself)- different circles for topics so things don’t get lost in a massive thread (important info and resources are kept in a separate circle from accountability and other updates)- cool way to connect and get access to all the membership resources within the app- love the ability to run challenges! Great way to give a large group a place to check in accountability wise. This is also a great way to train your people to take action—and you want action takers in your world- people get points for participating (not sure if this is something you choose) and you can award prizes. Great to inspire action + engagement!Thing to consider:- it’s a whole separate app, even from Kajabi, so if your community is not the most engaged, consider whether they’ll go to this app. But if they WILL, then this app has great features to help you get engagement (see above)!
I recently downloaded this app and I’m very excited to see where this goes. It’s a great place to meet new people especially for those traveling or moving to new areas. I think it makes sense for the app to know your location since the point of it is to meet others around you. There are several other apps that ask for similar if not more data. I get the opportunity to chat with new people in person as well as over the phone without having to give strangers any of my personal info. I love love love this app and all the possibilities it will bring!!
I was enrolled in Communities from another group and had heard it was accessible to the blind, but if this is their idea of accessibility I am very disappointed. Over half the buttons aren't labeled, I can't find anything in the app, there's no dark mode, enlarging text just makes it all unreadable, I can see tons of things on the screen but there's no way to read it with a screen reader, etc. I didn't want to leave this review but I can't even contact anyone to let them know that their "accessible" app is anything but. The website at least on mobile is just as bad so that's not an option either. I am being left out of my community because of the Communities app, go figure.
