Yearly or monthly? Are you both? Read...

Did you purchase a yearly subscription to 1Password? Are you subscribed on a monthly basis? Be aware, I was both. I subscribed for the annual renewal, forgot, and subsequently subscribed monthly through Apple. Fast forward one year when my yearly renewed. It only then came to my attention when I was alerted by my credit card provider. I contacted AgileBits and after a series of back and forth correspondence, they agreed to compensate me for the annual. They would not compensate me for the monthly instead. The monthly being a more expensive option, I found myself out a small bit. Lesson learned. Shame on me for not having caught this on my own before my card provider asked if the charge was possible fraud. Having said that shame on AgileBits for double dipping. I asked of them, "If your system makes use of an email address as an index and I only have the one, why would your system not alert you to that?” I was told, they are looking into that. I enjoy having the software if I’m being honest. That said, I thought I would relate this experience here in case there are others possibly affected.

Hi Maykinit, I'm so sorry you ended up with 2 subscriptions! It sounds like the situation hasn't been fully clarified and we'd love to further discuss. Please reach out to us at and include "Maykinit" in your email so we can connect the dots. Thanks! Mathieu, 1Password

Want my 1password 6 back :(

UPDATE: While waiting to hear back to my reply to the developer's response, I decided to try the v7 update again from scratch. I don't know if the app and/or Safari was updated in the 3 weeks since my first attempt and fixed my problems, or maybe the upgrade itself was the issue and installing from scratch is what I should have done to begin with, or maybe it was some other user error on my part -- but the stand alone license is now giving me a Safari extension that IS filling fields AND read/write access to logins. I've updated my rating from 2 to 4 stars. While I wish the upgrade had gone smoother -- it was extremely frustrating and i wasted a few hours I'll never get back trying to find a solution -- version 7 is back to working the same as before.

Really wish I'd come here and read the reviews before upgrading. This version 7 (and it's read only mode) is a huge step backwards as far as functionality, ease of use and convenience go. I had to upgrade to 7 after Safari 13 dropped support for the v.6 browser extension, and $50 later I find out that the v.7 extension doesn't fill in fields anymore? What's even the point of it? As a long time 1password customer, I'm really bummed the product has gone down this road & will definietly not be sticking with them and version 8.

Loyal Customer

Every touch-point I've had with this product and the company has been a positive experience. I was first really sold on 1Password when they came out with Watchtower. That support for the Heartbleed problem was extremely well done and customer-focused. I'm a software engineer, (no affiliation) so understood the technical details of Heartbleed, and I thought 1Password's approach provided a great user-friendly experience to help non-technical folk protect themselves properly.
Once, I felt the need to get on the forum in response to a change in how the product handled multiple vaults. The response from the company was immediate, thoughtful, and convincing.
I've now recommended 1Password to multiple others over the years, including coworkers, friends and family. Have heard nothing but good feedback. My sister thanked me recently, saying "It changed my life."
After years as a customer, I just had my first, and very helpful, exchange with the Support team, regarding upgrading from an individual to a family subscription. Addressed my concerns and worked back-and-forth with me to update my account in a very short time, all early on a Sunday morning!
As I said at the beginning, every touch-point has been nothing but positive.
