more TLDR: almost 20k pics/screenshots/vids of ~370 GB transferred perfectly keeping all metadata.I transferred over all ~5,500 of my photos & videos in a few hours to my NAS device all at their original quality. It was about 120 GB worth of stuff! (I shoot in ProRaw and 1080p60) I’m currently getting my wife’s ~13,000 photos & videos transferred in original quality now (PLENTY of screenshots but mostly non-ProRaw and 1080p30 videos) and it’s about 190 GB. It seemingly got corrupted with hers because it started transferring everything over very fast (about 5 pictures in a second) but would say 0.0% complete for each one instead of actually showing progress. I looked at the NAS and it had a bunch of .aae files (the “edited” versions) but wasn’t transferring the original. I fixed it in the app and now it’s working! The best part is all of the original metadata seems to be preserved. Down to the type of device used, its lens (e.g. wide for iPhone 12 Pro). Great app and worth it!

I’m currently transferring all my photos/videos from iPhone to iPhone (this app is the method I chose to transfer all my photos/videos over after I got my iCloud account stolen). Everything seems to be working great—I can see my photos and videos in full res, I can see the location/time data, and live photos are showing up perfectly! However, everything in the Recents album is showing up chronologically backwards… Instead of the most recent being at the bottom of the album, it is at the very top, which is so inconvenient for a long time Apple user… Is there any way I can fix this? Also, the albums other than “Recents” and “Favorites” don’t seem to be transferring over. For example, I don’t see my Snapchat album or my Instagram album that I have on my original iPhone. The pictures saved from these different apps are supposed to show “Saved from Snapchat,” “Saved from Instagram,” etc.“ but the pictures don’t show that with the transfer. If there is any way I can fix this, this app would be super helpful. Please let me know if there’s a solution to these or if the solutions can be included in the next update! If so, I’ll update my review to 5 stars!!! Please and thank you!!!
Developer Response Thanks for your feedback.1) As PhotoSync's main purpose it to transfer photos/videos we think it makes sense to have the newest photos/videos listed first. However, you can of course change the sort order. To do so please open the PhotoSync settings. Then tap "Display Options" and then "Sort Order" and select "Oldest First"2) The iOS Photo Library is organised in a way that all photos/videos are stored in "Recents". User albums (e.g. "Saved from Snapchat") contain only references to the original in "Recents". If you want PhotoSync to create user albums when transferring from "Recents", please perform the following steps on the sending device: a) Open the PhotoSync settings and tap "Configure" and then "Phone/Tablet" and enable "Keep album structure".If you have any more questions, please write a quick mail to support@photosync-app.com. We are happy to help! By mail we can answer much quicker and also more detailed than here in the review section of the AppStore, which is not really suited for support.

I’ve been using this app for over two years now. It’s the only app on the App Store with the kind of flexibility for storing photos/videos that I need.I didn’t want to rely on cloud storage, nor on iTunes/third party software to sync my device with. I wanted to do a wireless transfer of all my data on as many devices as possible with the least configuration setup on the server side as possible.I do use software like Nextcloud witch can do similar things but the setup of Nextcloud it’s not as simple. Sharing a folder over SMB it’s a no brainer on every major OS.Just that would be enough for me, but PhotoSync also brings many capabilities that I do appreciate like:• Resuming Uploads couldn’t be more easy.• Automatic Uploads based on triggers like, when charging, when on wifi, at X time, at X location.• Multiple options for organizing your uploaded files. By album, by date, by file type, by device.• Also very important it’s the capabilities of uploading to so many protocols, cloud providers and trough many ways. Regardless of where you’re uploading using this app will make it so much easy.Last thing it’s their loyalty to users. When I downloaded it for the first time it was free entirely. Then they added new premium features and to those who have been using it for a long time like me they automatically upgraded me for free. Thanks a lot to the team of PhotoSync for your hard work and for saving me from the headaches of transferring over 16K pictures/videos to my NAS.

This app is phenomenal, and I hope it remains supported for years to come. Before this app, I was stuck running MacOS in a Virtual Machine on Windows just to use the native Photos app for exports. I was convinced there was literally no other solution after using countless other apps. It felt like Apple backed me into a corner, saying, “Just buy a Mac.” (I already have a relevant laptop and very competent desktop PC, so spending $1000+ on a Mac just for photo management seemed like overkill). I’m so happy that I can keep the categorization I’ve set up in Photos when transferring to my PC. I can Transfer 10,000+ photos to my PC and they will all just go into folders without the hassle of having to organize everything all over again. I can’t believe Apple doesn’t have a similar feature! Even in macOS, I’ve had to manually make all 90 of the albums I have as folders, and then export originals to each one individually. That would take an hour+, and using Files on my iPhone to do this is nearly impossible as it just crashes. Now I can ‘select all’ in this app, leave my phone to do its thing for bit, and then it’s all right on my PC nice and organized. Hours of time saved!I’ve been searching for something like this for over a year, and I was so shocked that it seemingly didn’t exist that I was going to develop one myself! So this definitely saved me a lot of time 😅Thank you so much. Outstanding work!
