I don’t use the app as much as I want to because when I tilt my phone to landscape the app does not reorient. I commute on a train multiple days a week and would love to be more productive using the app during this time. Also if the desktop app could be made available for offline use would be amazing!
As an avid Asana user, I beg you to improve:- dark mode - simplify design and colors and spacing for quicker legibility- add back manage other people’s tasks in mobile where you can sort by project or custom (I’m an admin)- iOS Home Screen widget only shows tasks due today— can that please automatically include overdue tasks???
Update: many issues remain, but I can search by tags. Still can’t add a tag to an event or create a new one. ***iOS 26.1 - the share sheet within photos is broken—-I use it. It’s buggy though. The website is sooo much better, but not very usable on my phone. Current frustrations: search is now very weak. I can’t use words that are found in the comments or some other fields. Comparing that to Evernote and …well it’s 0 to 100. And where are tags? The app isn’t allowing me to add new ones to a task and I can no longer have tags visible as a sorting column in a project. Big fail.
Asana wastes most of the screen. One is constantly working in the far lower right corner of the app. Lists of tasks are displayed with giant useless icons. Tree views are not available. If you use long task or project names they will be difficult to work with — usually displayed with truncation. It seems like many of their design choices were made with sales demos in mind; when you have to really work with the software the design that looked cool (seeing little face icons for everyone you know well) becomes tedious and time wasting.

When I first started using the Asana app a few years ago to keep track of my monthly expenses, I set the filter and sort parameters and the app remembered them each time I opened it. Earlier this year (2025), after an update, the app no longer remembers my settings. EVERY TIME I open the app, I have to set the filter and sorting parameters. I also no longer get notifications. I have due dates for my bills set in Asana for several days before the actual due date and relied on the app notifications to make sure everything was paid on time. I’ve been late paying two bills this year because I no longer get notifications from the Asana app. Therefore, this app is no longer the best tool (especially for people with ADHD) to stay organized and why it only gets 2 stars from me.
The iOS app is as pitifully bad as the desktop app is spectacular. None of conditions set on desktop lists carry over to the iOS app. The names of lists carry over. But the iOS app throws in random sorting, filtering, and grouping of your lists that cannot be undone, no matter how many attempts you make. Or reinstalling. Or removing old data. Nothing fixes this problem. It’s maddening. You’re left looking at lists that are in no way useful. Just random lists, randomly sorted and grouped and filtered, that you cannot change, no matter how many times you attempt to undo the randomness and configure it in a useful way. Set the sorting, grouping, filtering in a useful way. Save that config. View the list and it shows the previous, random configs. It’s insane. The iOS app torpedoes the credibility of your exceptional desktop app.
