4 Envelopes is a personal budgeting app for individuals and households. The month is four weeks, and each one shows a single figure: what is left to spend. 4 Envelopes is a personal budgeting app for individuals and households. The problem it solves: most budgeting apps report the past — they group last month's spending into categories and draw charts of it. That tells you where money went, but not what you may spend today. 4 Envelopes allocates forward instead. How it works: the calendar month is divided into four "envelopes", one per week. The month's standing commitments — salary, rent, subscriptions, savings goals — are added up and divided evenly across the four. Anything you enter for a particular week is added to that week alone. Each envelope therefore shows a single figure: how much is left to spend in that week. If a week is overspent, it is emptied and the shortfall carries forward to the weeks after it, never to weeks already lived through. Target audience: adults managing their own or their household's money, in particular people whose income and expenses are in more than one currency — the app supports 34 currencies and converts between them using European Central Bank reference rates. There is no user-generated content shared between users, no social features, no messaging, and no content that any user can publish to another. Every account sees only its own data. Subscription: 4 Envelopes Monthly, an auto-renewable subscription billed monthly through your Apple ID. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings.
