Use the 5K Run app to improve your stamina, endurance, and health to help you run a 5K! Use interval training to increase your body's strength!
Use the 5K Run app to improve your stamina, endurance, and health to help you run a 5K! Your body's strength will gradually increase over time with the 'interval training' method.
Over the next 8 weeks your running will be steadily improved. You will start with 1 minute jogging intervals in-between 1.5 minute walks. As you complete runs your body will be strengthened and the program will slowly become more challenging. You will be on your 5K run before you know it!
Take your device with you on your runs! Listen to your favorite music and get prompted over your headphones to run or walk. Your entire run will be directed through your headphones or speakers.
Glancing at the app while on your run will show you:
- How long you have been running
- How much time you have left on your run
- how much time you have left on your current interval
Need to stop and tie your shoe? Pause the run! Or, press Back/Next to go to different intervals.
- Use outside or on a treadmill
- Play your music while running - the coach will chime in over your music
- Use with any music app
- Running plan overview - look ahead and see future runs
- Run interval controls
- Apple Health Support! Sync your runs to the Health app and get a better view of your overall fitness.

Ratings and Reviews
Simple and effective
The app works as it states. My only suggestion is to allow for the app sounds to play when your phone is locked (like music sounds). The guy telling me to run and walk is great but I want to preserve my battery and lock my phone during the run.
I downloaded this app to help get me ready for a 5k I signed up for in June. I opted for the upgrade not because I cared about the ads but I wanted to link it to my smart watch. Got the email confirmation from my App Store and see where the money was taken out of my account, but still can’t attach to my watch. When I try to pair it says I can upgrade, if I want to use that feature. I’ve contacted the help desk 4 times with no reply not even a “we stole your money, sorry not sorry” reply. Nothing, complete silence, even after I advised them I plan on writing this review. Now I’m going to have to dispute this transaction with my bank. Hope it works better for others, I’ll be telling random runners on the street not to use this app!
This was me week 1 As a person who ran frequently in prior decades and who is bothered by heat thanks to MS, this app seems to be a way back to outdoor exercise.
Me week 3 I noticed longer than usual intervals and saw that a walk or run was completely skipped. Initially I thought it was me. So I paid closer attention. It continued to happen. Days 3, 4, 5, 6 it happened every time. On day 4, I bought the Pro version and had the same result. Just completed run 6 and I'll be deleting this app as I had the same situation. Intermittent notifications aren't helpful.
There must be bugs in the app so don't waste $$$ getting the Pro.
