I’ve been on a years-long quest for high-quality, local, on-device TTS. In particular, I’ve been waiting for an app that integrates the new open-weights Kokoro model & voices. The time has finally come! You are here 😉I spent a lot of time experimenting with privately hosted Kokoro implementations, custom scripts, and even Apple Shortcuts to create this kind of TTS experience – but nothing quite worked the way I hoped!I finally found this app and it does exactly what I need it to! For free, no less! A true boon for something I use as an accessibility tool and on a disability-friendly budget. I wish Apple would permit GPU compute processing in the background, but that’s an iOS limitation – not necessarily one of this app. On an accessibility note: I would love to see better use of Dynamic Type and UI scaling in future versions. A lot of people who rely on TTS might need vision accommodations. Overall, I appreciate this app so far and look forward to what it has to offer in the future!

This is an excellent app. There is no reason for complaints the app is free and is rock solid. Aa a pastor I go through volumes of material to read so having the option to listen from time to time is fantastic especially while on the go. I will gladly endorse and share to my ministry contacts.
